Another reason why such people should not be bailed is that their prior positions are influential enough to influence not just investigations but the judicial process as a whole not to talk of the safety of key witnesses.

Which plea bargain? Bail is a mere administrative procedure which is proper since he has not been found guilty. Has little to do with the substance of the allegation against him which remains and will still be heard in Court.

He was on his way to the position of the IG. Hopefully he clears his name. He is a very good policeman.
