Let's start with the basic component definitions:

Tribe:
1. A socially, ethnically, or politically cohesive group of people.
2. (anthropology) A society larger than a band but smaller than a state.

Veil:
1. Something hung up or spread out to hide or protect the face, or hide an object from view; usually of gauze, crepe, or similar diaphanous material.
2. (figurative) Anything that partially obscures a clear view.
3. A cover; disguise; a mask; a pretense.

In the context of this write-up, A veil is what blinds us from the truth.
Hence Tribal Veil simply refers to how our tribal differences blind us from seeing the truth.

First, permit me to introduce this discourse as a religious and social discourse based on the study of biblical teachings and societal observations, engagements and interactions.

According to the bible, all creation emanated from a Creator- God.

God created Mankind and Blessed them.
Through Adam and Eve, all humans would be born and spread all over the earth- multiplying and having dominion over territories.

Satan deceives Eve to sin (disobedience to God) and mankind inherits curses.

Family feuds ensue from generation to generation.
Cain murders his brother Abel over envy.
Evil spread all over the earth and mankind multiplied. Until God decides to refresh the earth and selects Noah's family. Noah builds the great Ark and the great torrents drowned all creation except the family of Noah.

Noah blessed some of his children and cursed one over his abomination.
Generations after, Abraham is chosen by God to cancel the curses and reestablish God's blessings on mankind. He would become the Father of Nations.
Abraham's grand child, Esau traded his birthright over food. And Jacob his twin brother becomes the lineage of Jesus Christ.

This background is important to help us understand that we are all one family- every human being.

Gen.9.18 - Now the sons of Noah who went out of the ark were Shem, Ham, and Japheth. And Ham was the father of Canaan.
Gen.9.19 - These three were the sons of Noah, and from these the whole earth was populated.

It is believed, though speculative that African lineage came through Ham who was cursed by Noah for not covering his unclothedness when he was drunk. (This explains a lot.)

Today we are polarized across various divides- racial, continental, national, tribal, state, ethnic, family, etc. This is inevitable. Even as families we are divided, one nuclear family is fighting another nuclear family especially in polygamous homes. Not to talk of the compound and extended families.

If we can really look introspectively and also see beyond our differences, we will come to realise that we have simply inherited fights, battles and family feuds from generation to generation.
Some family feuds we were never even a part of.

-Why should a white and a black man today hate each other because of the various forms of Slavery that happened centuries ago?

-Why should Yoruba/Igbo/Hausa hate one another today because Biafra happened decades ago?

The Truth is We are One Big Family.
And We need to heal.
Our generation needs to be intentional so as not to continue these repeat patterns.

When we hear of generational and ancestral curses, these are what forms the foundation of our problems- individually, as families, tribes, nationally and globally.

We should employ every means necessary to end this vicious and pathetic cycles- Religiously, Socially, Academically, Politically, Psychologically, etc.
Not only for our own sakes- but more importantly for our children and the generations to come.

So help us God. Amen.
