This is a big joke

Is this palliative only for those employed by government and her agencies? Abi how are the self employed and unemployed supposed to get a piece of it? I hope its not another scam whereby a group of people pocket everything o. I would have expected they do something with the money that everyone, young and old can benefit from, not just a few. I would suggest they buy some rugged and heavy duty buses that can carry at least 100-120 people at a time and have them ply the roads free or at a really subsidised rate. I'm not talking of those fancy looking brt buses they keep buying... Something strong and rugged and the elderly people and children should be free on those busses. Thats how its done in sane societies. The people over 60 do not pay for public transport. They just scan their cards and get on, absolutely free. Let's stop this mentality of sharing money all the time and start having our money work for us.

The federal and state govt should do the needful by increasing civil servant salaries to start with... they should use part of the money saved from subsidy to pay workers.
Palliative money that won't get to the people that needed it.

That’s not enough cause many children of government workers are out of school and the value of of our currency is down seriously when compared to many African countries currencies

So HE never thought about the boomerang effect when he was declaring such policies.

Who will fight for the retirees, self employed, unemployed and those in the private sector?I expect NLC to push for what will benefit all Nigerians..If the govt increases salary, it will lead to more inflation at the detriment of the economy, retirees, self employed, unemployed thereby pushing more Nigerians into poverty.
Do you remember that once upon a time in this country these civil servants salary was N100!

PLEASE kindly allow the process which took it from that N100 to N75000 - N100,000+ presently in 2023 to happen again

For the love of God stop defending the indefensible

This is a welcome development from Mr. President. This will go a long way in cushioning the effect of the fuel subsidy removal

I guess he wants to start with the 500 billion naira first and thereafter increase the palliative.

Kudos BAT!

Give each state N10billion to buy green buses to transport people in high dense cities for free. Use data from the past to give cast transfers to specific people for 3 months…let’s see what happens first @ N10k per month not including displaced and those in IDPs. Most Nigerians can cope as it is evident so far. Let’s reduce debt burden and invest in her future.

So your suggestions are increase inflation with more inflation especially on commodity affecting non government workers

So what is your suggestion? Palliative loans should be given to SME(anyone with business and plan that has applied and not ghost businesses as they did during buhari time) and also Transportation palliatives(in form of Transit Buses, intercity Rail networks, loan for car conversation), then before increase in minimum wage. Then government can get back these loans and get more taxes.
