The government is either being mischievous, cunning, or they have honestly hit a brick wall as far as generating the best ideas on the kinds of palliative will fit the situation of Nigerians at this point in time.
It's unimaginative for palliatives to be restricted to food and salary. Perhaps this article can help in that regard:

Yes it's not.. it should go up periodically.. not 300% at a once
That was a bargaining percentage.

Because even if they called a lower percentage, and the government deem it fit to call for a meeting, they will still beat it down.

It is just for bargaining untill the government accent to it through negotiation.

It is rather very premature for NLC to demand for 300 percent pay rise at this current inflation rate. I believe these people are technocrats they suppose to understand how economy works. They forgot those that are self employed.
That is just a bargaining percentage, until the government decide to look into.

Irrespective of the amount they called, the government will still beat it down.

Same thing happen during the last Minimum wage increase.

It is mainly for the low-income earners and not everybody within your population estimate of 200m people.
Does that makes it justify, when the greater percentage are low income earners?

Let's start with 500billion palliative

300% increase in salary might cause inflation

.

All the allowances and salary increase of the ruling class cannot cause inflation.

It is the increase in salary of a poor miserable bastard that will cause inflation.

I give up.

Any palliatives without pay rise for workers is a waste of time.

Too bad

Assuming a population of 200 million, N 500 billion will translate to N2,500 person

This is a big joke
They should rather use the funds to build/revamp railway system, buy more automobiles for public use, reduce tariffs on electricity and so on. This N500b will go the way of trader's money.

What the heck is wrong with labour? Who can afford to pay a 300% increase? What happens to the private sector? Ok so let's all be ridiculous. If the 125m poor received 2m in their accounts tomorrow would they hit the streets to protest?

Why not wait to see how the 500bn will be structured before complaining?

So instead of increasing workers salary, you start with 500 billion so that they will share 5k to ghost people and steal the rest?
Is 5k or 10k enough to take care of any expenses in the current nigeria?
Increase salaries of workers so that parents can afford to pay their bills and take care of their family.
Nigerians are one hell of a people that their reasoning is too poor.

Palliative that will end up in government officials account.

Launch programs like Npower ,uwin etc and give people grants ...those Smedan grants and increase minimum wage.

Stepends to all unemployed people in Nigeria

BRT and electric trains will pay the children school fees, and a level 10 state officer earning 60k monthly and after 15 years in service and have kids in the univeristy should be left to wallow in poverty.

Please try to use your sense when you write sometimes, you dont have to be disgracing your people here

MS247:

How many Federal Government workers would get salary increments and what's their percentage out of 210 million Nigerians?!

What we need is mass transit, BRT, trains, electric cars, LNG cars, tramcars, metros

Not some few workers getting 300% increments for walking around and gisting at Federal secetariat

.

your own is for people not to be able to survive?
Minimum wage is 30k, bag rice is 40k.. How do people pay for their kids fees, rent, transport, feeding and still survive? Am not even talking luxury here.

The workforce is the backbone of the country, because you are not a salary earner does not mean you dont have one as a client or customer, they have parents, they have kids, sisters and aunts. They have families, above all they dont eat money, they patronize you and me in the market, they engage the services of artisans and give their retired parents monthly stipends. They are the backbone of a nation
