However much you say, many Nigerians don't want to hear it.

Nigeria could and should be better, but many countries around the world are in a more desperate situation.

Argentina: inflation at over 100%, their currency has nearly collapsed. By the way, inflation in Nigeria is around 23%

Egypt: Their currency lost 50% of its value last year; basic foods have become a luxury.

Lebanon: The currency has completely collapsed. They have more or less abandoned it for dollars. Previously middle class people are picking foods from waste bins. A loaf of bread in Lebanon cost about 20 times the price 3 years ago. In that time, Nigerian loaf prices have increased less than 3 times.

Several other countries, including Ghana, Venezuela etc are in worse situation than Nigeria.

None of the above is a reason not to criticise Nigerian governments.

But we have a new government trying to correct some of the economic errors of the past 20 - 30 years. Let's give it a year or two to see their performance...but no, some Nigerians insist we must continue in the old way even if that means borrowing more and more to keep prices of goods down (subsidy).

Smh.

Hope you're not begging those wailers.

Calm your titties! What's the lie in what i said? Is fuel not more expensive in Ghana than Nigeria? Go and check out what their inflation rate is and come back to tell us how their economy is not in a worse state than Nigeria's. Are they not more heavily indebted than Nigeria? Are their politicians not corrupt? Did I mention anything about school fees or any of the nonsense you mentioned here?
If Ghana is alluring to you, thrn take off your ass and go there. And if you are there already, good luck to you.

Now what is the direct exchange rate between the naira and the cedi?,if a Ghanaian n a Nigerian were to move to each others country with a million each of their local currency, who would purchase more?, tell us n let see whose economy is really better, for instance if come cost 7cedis,a million cedis will get a Ghanaian 142,857 bottles of coke, but a million naira will only get a Nigerian 4,000 bottles of same coke in their respective countries!,so what is Reno saying, this is the kind of voodoo economic n political theories that is destroying Nigeria,Reno has shown himself to be double faced,he is supporting Tinubu n trying to keep his relationship with Atiku/PDP hoping to real from both,I use to admire him but not anymore.

This is an incomplete and poor analysis.
Has Reno considered the population of Nigeria to Ghana which also trickles down to the working population, schooling population etc
With those factors in his analysis, he will understand that thinks are bound to be much more cheaper in Nigeria compared to other developing countries with less population!!!

5 . Tribal factors

Re: Reno Omokri Compares Petrol Prices In Ghana And Nigeria by juliuscaesar(m): 11:52am On Jul 27, 2023
This analogy doesn't make sense. All you have to do is look at the currency count for the countries versus the US dollar.

442 Ghanaian cedis to $40 vs 30,000 Nigerian naira to $38.

It shows our currency is useless if we have to change 30,000 naira to 1 us dollar, and Ghanians only have to change 442 cedis.

If our currency was good, then a reasonable exchange rate would be 300 naira to $40. At that point, we would be paying way more for gas. Only reason it feels like we are paying less is because of it takes more of our currency to convert to dollar than the cedis. When we are able to increase the value of the naira, to compare to cedis, then we can come back and do this analogy.

Reno is actually correct in all he said here.
reno is talking from his ass , he forget the most actual important basics of life that is missing in Nigeria. Despite the corruption present in Ghana , we aren't suffering from insecurity, power failure or poor health care . Infact there is almost insurance medical care for everyone in Ghana regardless of citizenship.

Ghana is an oil country but it doesn't produce at the rate at which Nigeria produce not even close . And yes she is not even a memeber of opec ( the big boys of oil nation).

Please add that Ghanians don't steal electric cables and transformers.

This is a stupid analysis..How can he be comparing Nigeria with Ghana? Nigeria is 7th largest producer of crude oil in the world. If not corruption of political class, Nigeria has nothing to do with poverty. He should be comparing Nigeria with UK, U.S, Japan, etc not Ghana. Indeed, common sense is not common.
No Nigeria is even worse than ghana.. The comparison is filled with lies and quarter truths. They will. never tell you that ghana has 24/7 electricity ...and quality of life is better there.. Their universities provide business funding for the graduate something Nigeria can't even dream of

Mind you gdp of ghana is less than gdp of lagos..

Minimum wage is a dubious measure, cos percentage of population at minimum wage varies by country

It is better to look at median income, which is
Ghana $1779
Nigeria $825

i.e. middle class in Ghana earns 2x middle class in Nigeria

To listen to Reno, one must be objective BEYOND sentiments (religious, ethnic or Political).

Reno is far from my tribe or my Party BUT what he says of recent are very FACTUAL !

If you see the comments of his Haters here, you will notice that they don't have ANY FACTUAL retort to his statements.

All you see are comments like " Political jobber', "UK refugee", "He is only trying to get a job in Nigeria "....bla bla bla.

He recently made FACTUAL comparisons between Atiku , Tinubu and Obi.......No one could dispute his claims.

I am not really fond of Reno but this guy is an educated guy with FACTS!
This is a skewed comparison so there is nothing factual about it. Reno is only trying to be mischievous.

The question you should ask yourself is, why did Reno pick Ghana while comparing PMS prices?
Why did Reno bypass other oil giants in Africa like Libya and Angola to compare that of Ghana. Ghana still imported crude oil from Nigeria as recent as 2021 so what exactly is the parallel that Reno is trying to compare between Nigeria and Ghana as regards PMS prices.

What Reno is doing is exactly what terrorists do when they extract a portion of the Quran to justify their wanton killing of those they consider to be infidels.
This is a baseless comparison as there is no parallel. If Reno is not trying to be mischievous, he should compare Nigeria with Libya, Angola, or beyond the borders of Africa, use Saudi Arabia when comparing PMS prices
Re: Reno Omokri Compares Petrol Prices In Ghana And Nigeria by ivandragon: 12:15pm On Jul 27, 2023
Minimum wage in Nigeria is a misnomer.

Who actually earns minimum wage in Nigeria?

Aside the FG, some buoyant states & large cooperations, who earns minimum wage?

Is it the farmers? The hawkers? Hairdressers? Tailors?

Is it the security guards? Drivers? Shop attendants? Petrol attendants? Who?

The total number of persons in Nigeria who supposedly earn minimum wage is not up to 10million.

In other countries, minimum wage is paid to MAJORLY uneducated, unskilled & barely literate workers. It is the minimum anyone with the lowest qualification to skill level should be paid.

In Nigeria, it is the so called big salaried boys that earn minimum wage.

For instance, the average federal minimum wage in US is $7 p/h. In a month, it comes down to about $1100, appox. 900k. Now 900k is what some bank executives & oil workers earn a month, but that is what the lowest leveled unskilled workers earn in the US.

Ergo, the minimum wage in Nigeria might be higher than Ghana's but in reality, Nigeria's true minimum wage is far lower.

You are so stupid. Ghana's total debt is $58bn for 30m people. Nigeria's debt for 200m people is $108bn. Idiot, which of the two countries is more indebted? Olodo.

What's the source of the nonsensical chart you are posting? Ghana for example do not have senators, they have MPs. An MP in Ghana takes home over $30,000 annually in a country where the gdp is less than Lagos gdp and minimum wage is lower than even Nigeria's poor minimum wage despite having an inflation rate of over 40%•
Bottom line: both countries have very useless politicians who have mismanaged the economy but Ghana's economy is worse and has defaulted on its loans with help Everytime from the imf.

I'm done arguing with you. You are retarded.
