These are twisted fact really. Reno Knows Ghana economic index is far better than Nigeria's. Taking the issue of Tuition for example. Government pay tuition for Ghanians if you take a test and meet the target score which is easy to meet. Otherwise, you will pay yourself. There is no such educational scheme in Nigeria

What's their population compared to Nigeria? Ghana has a population of about 30m which is just like combining Lagos and Oyo.

Their oil export is almost 200,000 barrels per day. So per capita it's the same as Nigeria.

What's the source of the nonsensical chart you are posting? Ghana for example do not have senators, they have MPs. An MP in Ghana takes home over $30,000 annually in a country where the gdp is less than Lagos gdp and minimum wage is lower than even Nigeria's poor minimum wage despite having an inflation rate of over 40%•
Bottom line: both countries have very useless politicians who have mismanaged the economy but Ghana's economy is worse and has defaulted on its loans with help Everytime from the imf.

Numbers? Nigeria has 3 of the top richest Africans - Dangote, Rabiu, Adenuga. Their money account for Nigeria seeming growth. The money is concentrated to rich few. That is the challenge of Gross Domestic Income accounting! The simple check is immigration flow between the two countries. When Nigeria was better, Ghanaians came here. We are the one leaving for Ghana in throves now. What would you think is responsible?

So shitty Ghana and the US/UK can now be mentioned in the same breath in terms of debt management? grin This one is delusional. I should give up on you when you said population is irrelevant in terms of debt profile but I won't. Divide Ghana's debt per capita then you will see Ghana is in a bigger mess than Nigeria. How can a country of 30m owe $58bn and you say population is irrelevant? That's why Ghana fell into the trap of HIPC. (I'm not sure you are smart enough to know the meaning of HIPC)

How come Ghana is in the hipc club and Nigeria is not? If you say population is not a factor in this kind of thing then the idea of per capita in economics is something above your pay grade.

This is the reason why Ghanaian cedi is doing badly and inflation is Killing the people. What's the price of a litre of petrol in Ghana compared to Nigeria? Is ghana not a oil producing country? How come the country has to be bailed out by imf almost every decade? How come with all the gold and mineral resources Ghana is still defaulting on its loans? How come minimum wage is lower in Ghana than Nigeria even with a tiny population? What's Nigeria's inflation rate compared to Ghana's?

Only a very corrupt political class could put a small richly endowed country like Ghana in the kind of mess it is. Corruption goes beyond politicians alone but clearly Ghana's politicians are worse than Nigeria's politicians for Ghana to be so bad economically.
