It is a welcome development that we are informed by the Govt of accruals from subsidy removal, but not enough yet. What is expected and the best that could happen is for the same Govt to utilize the money instantly on measures (provision of buses to all LGAs and State capitals across the country to ease transport) to cushion the effects of subsidy removal. Nigerians are suffering and in need of urgent attention. Lets do well to avoid a spill over of the situation in Niger and other African countries.

1 trillion saved πŸ€” and you went to borrow 500 billion for palliative? Tinubu make it make sense to ordinary Nigeria like myself here now.

If Mr. A is living in a rented apartment with his family at 300k monthly. Mr. A somehow loses ability to pay rent, he lost his job or got a pay cut. The rent doesn't stop counting but now accumulating and he's begging landlord to give him time. Suddenly, Mr. A doesn't need to pay rent again because he now moved to their family house. He has saved having to pay 300k monthly. He still has to pay his former debt and rent but has saved 3.6 million usually going into annual rent.

More than this, over time monies will be free to help improve primary healthcare and education sector. Building good schools and hospitals.

Lol sounds like a fantasy cos the west still control the natural resources in this country. Frankly speaking the country only depend on tax which is not enough. We need to manufacture real commodities to export and earn dollars. Tinubu is clearly running away from reality by using the backdoor. Have u asked yourself why we can't repair our refineries and ajokuta steel? Don't u think it's a bit shady.

Have you asked yourself? What answers did you get? Did you listen to the president's speech yesterday? What did you learn from it for manufacturing businesses?

2 months 1Trillion.. Mr President. This is just sensation. It does not last.
Anyway we don't want you to build Nigeria like Lagos o. Lagos is one of the most terrible place to live. It is too exclusive. Lagos is a sensation. Life in lagos lacks dignity.

We understand Business is about numbers but a country is about welfarism.
Re: Over N1 Trillion Saved Since Subsidy Removal, Says Tinubu by tete7000(m): 10:22am On Aug 01, 2023
Validated:
Meaning he would have saved N6T in one year and N24T in 4 years.

Meaning Abuja will overtake Dubai in development

Meaning that he has saved N5000 or $6.66 per Nigerian and would be saving N30000 or $40 per person in a year.

$40 saved in a year is equivalent to 3hrs wages in another citizen's or human country.

Meaning Nigeria will still have over 133m in multidimensional poverty?

Are we really moving forward?

But the Tinubus are the one who didn't allowed the subsidy to end before. They are the same people who argued against excess crude account saying there is no provision in the constitution for it and the money should be shared. When Okonjo Eweala proposed for the creation of sovereign wealth fund, the Tinubu and his APC sponsored propaganda to oppose it. The people now trying to look like champions are the unpatriotic elements who made it unable for Nigeria to have made needed progress because of their selfish lust for power at all cost.

Hahaha, Tinubu be giving them mathematics to solve. Saved 1 trillion in 2 months, make them start calculating how much he will save in 2 to 4 years while in reality hunger is whipping them silly. Nigerians are so gullible. Especially the Agbadorians. 🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣🀣

This was exactly what he criticized Peter Obi of during the election campaign...when he made the statement..."na statistics we go chop"...
you beat me to this comment. I remember when obi said we will save cost of governance and this vagabon was saying who saves money when people are hungry. And the saved money he’s referring to can’t even be accounted for atm. Nigerians got scammed and he wasn’t even the legitimate winner.

Tinubu should channel these monies to developing nigeria's infrastural and geo-political development, be equality in national leadership, develop our education, schools (universities especially), build industries to create many jobs, and give loans equally to the nation's citizens needing it, I believe in this govt but he's to do more to help the doomed nation scattered under some PDP, and 'Buhari administration' especially...

Re: Over N1 Trillion Saved Since Subsidy Removal, Says Tinubu by toneroforever(m): 10:34am On Aug 01, 2023
Why is Tinubu this daft.
N8000/month per household is grossly insufficient & still can't get to even a third of the population.
Remove say 50% of petrol subsidy and use the money to fix the refineries.

Track & dismantle the petrol subsidy cabal....
unless it's difficult for him because of his drug/criminal history.

And again to the senate, free Kanu to reduce the tension in the SE and create adequate security in the core Northern zones to curb insecurity over there too, Nigeria is very under-developed and these monies should be channeled into developments, thanks

Okay, refineries in plural, right? How many? And how long to complete them?

Dangote refineries is about 18 billion dollars (dues to inflation ofcos and foreign issue.)

Are u saying that Nigeria doesn't have half of that to build a refinery?
Or repair the existing ones?

Didn't they just share about 1 trillion naira among the states frm excess crude oil revenue?

They don't want to or they want da gote to monopolise things

Let's be converting whatever we are saving into dollars so that we would have perspective..at least until we are somewhat self sufficient..but really now that we have blocked the stealing from Fuel subsidy..let's look for another area ppl are scamming us like dangote and extracting our resources from the ground selling stuffs that should be very cheap..why should I be buying bag of cement for 5k

It's simple logic. It's like if you used to transport yourself to work monthly for 50k and you got a place trekking distance from work. You've saved 50k that should have been transportation to work.
Or you used to spend 1million in 6months on accommodation, but you are currently staying free in a place courtesy of a friend. You've saved that 1 million that you usually sourced for accommodation. Now that Nigeria does not have to pay for subsidy, that debt is no more accumulating. Also, the gains made can be rechanneled to other things like health, education and infrastructure.
Don't mind them
