If Lagos state hospital was scared of a lawsuit, they would have repaired that elevator long ago.

If this was america, that hospital wouod be facing bankruptcy due to the payout they would be making to the girl's family.

We don't sue. A university once wasted 1year of my life due to their carelessness.

I was scare to sue them because I believe I have a future with them and it might jeopardise it.

If I sue them, probably I would have been made for life.

You see all these elevators, when its malfunction, you hardly get a second chance.
if i work in that kind of building knowing the complaints and history of poor management of the facility, nothing will make me use the elevator...the stairs are safe and good for one's health. I don't fancy hospitals that are on high rise buildings.

That's how a fire incident happens on one and patients where jumping through the windows...in China.

A single-story, or at most second-floor buildings remains the best for housing an hospital.

And the solution to that is lawsuits.

When companies and organization go bankrupt due to payouts and their insurance premium rises, maintaining infrastructure and ensuring general safety would be the cheapest option for them.

Right now, there is no incentive for Nigerian organizations to enforce General Safety.

Don't forget the case of the Chrisland school girl that was electrocuted by a candy machine.....its the same root cause as this lift/elevator incident namely the laziness of blacks....

Things like this do happen even in so called advance countries, was it that [b]there was no blood at all or her blood type is not available[/b] .

Sentencing just “one evil person” would essentially be scapegoating…
These sorts of incidents result from chain-of-command failures, and everyone in that chain (however highly-placed) should be punished!
