President Bola Tinubu, on Wednesday night, assured the leaders of the organised labour that the Port Harcourt refinery will commence operations by December 2023.

The organised labour revealed this in a statement on Wednesday night.

The labour centers also noted that the president made a series of promises following which they agreed to return to the negotiations table.

The national presidents of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Joe Ajaero and Trade Union Congress, Festus Osifo in the statement also hailed Nigerians for supporting the nationwide protest.

"It is pertinent to inform Nigerians that the extent of the success of the protest is underlined by the request of the President of the federal republic of Nigeria; Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu to meet with the leadership of the NLC and TUC in a closed-door session.

“The engagement was fruitful that immense mileage was obtained with regards to the issues that bogged down the work of the Presidential Committee on Subsidy removal and necessitated the protest viz; He committed to an immediate restructuring of the framework for engagement in line with the input of the Labour leaders.
He let out a certainty that the Port Harcourt Refinery will commence production by December this year. He pledged to ensure that Agreement is reached on the Wage Award for Nigerian workers immediately.

“He promised to unveil a workable roadmap to the CNG alternative next week. On the strength of the president’s pledge and commitment, we have decided to return to a new and reinvigorated dialogue process to allow for full implementation.

“Once again, we thank Nigerians while we wait for the Government to fulfill its own part of the understanding as agreed with His Excellency; the President.”

You live in ph but you don't live in refinery area abi
Has the same road you are talking about disrupted Petrochemical operations, or prevented operations at ONNE?. since you stay in ph, why not take a bus, stop at refinery junction, take a bike, stop at refinery gate, you will meet security men there (,not those army people ooo), tell them you just came to know the status of the refinery

And stop constituting nuisance with your ignorance

Nigerians are very gullible, the illiteracy level is growing every day.

How can you believe a druggie?
Has nothing to do with the literacy level of Nigerians.
The government of Nigeria has mentally and emotionally torched the citizens that a Ph.D. holder has an attitude of a school dropout.
When you dominate and subject a human being to extreme poverty he/she will become a ZOMBIE.
Tinubu a leader by manipulation will tell the nation that he meant December 2031.

They should have revived that refinery before removing subsidy. Refinery that has swallowed trillions of naira with slow pace of work progress. At least the inflation could have been reduced.

Logic: if PHRC is ready before sangote Refinery, dangote will be a price taker for his products. But if dangote refinery resumes first, then he fixes the price. And the price will not come down even with PHRC coming up.

When I say these always sit on a round table and ensure everything Benefits them, they will say I hate politicians.

Now the damage has been caused already. Inflation has happened already, prices of commodities will not come down again. They should just increase minimum wage and let everyone including the stupid apc worshippers find ways to survive

How will FG make the refinery work if Dey spend the money of subsidy ?

Buhari promised more than this.

Billions were buried in proposed turn-around maintenance and revitalisation of the same refineries. Mele Kyari and his oil goons siphoned said monies and the refineries are worse today than they were in 2014.

All of this is just more noise.
