I really dislike comments like this, it proves you have no idea of the state of things...

Lemme throw you a question, if the sanctions hit Niger as hard as you are illustrating, who get's hit, is it not the people of Niger?

and if the situation becomes unbearable in Niger the resulting humanitarian crisis will be handled by which country, is it not Nigeria that would have to deal with the refugee's from Niger?

just assuming there is an influx of 8 million people from Niger through the very porous northern borders, to add to the insecurity, and hardship currently in Nigeria... who will handle the situation? How many Nigerian families eat three square meals of late?

I will like to remind you that currently, Nigeria is in a very bad economic situation, and a humanitarian crisis from the North as a result of sanctions and military activity is something Nigeria should not even risk.

Infact to even let you know something vital, the people of Niger are actually struggling for their liberation from France... the same France that B.A.T is currently flirting with.

This is a situation that Nigeria should have immediately stepped in as a big brother and played high level diplomacy, using hausa elder statesmen and traditional rulers from the onset, not by using military threats and force.

War experiments at this time is something Nigeria can not afford on various levels

This B.A.T Gbajabiamila led administration is truly something...

Wait till African Union also impose their own sanctions by the end of this week when their ultimatum expires. A country that 40% of its budget is financed by ECOWAS, AU and the West is doing shakara. Just last year Buhari dashed these Niger soldiers military vehicles and built a rail system for them.

Sultan of Sokoto and General Abdulsalam were sent in. They are Northern elder statesmen. However, the Nigeriens prefer to go to the stadium to insult Nigeria and display photoshop pictures of the Nigerian president..

As hunger they bite them now, they are already thinking hard on their actions and are begging for diplomacy. Tinubu would have to resend The same delegation he sent a few days ago.

Were the coup plotters expecting ECOWAS and the African Union to clap for them for toppling a democratically elected president?

But your people were insulting Tinubu. Una never see anything.

But the sad part is refugees will start trooping to Nigeria. Which is a security treat to our country. Our soldiers need to mount our borders in the north.

Niger needs Nigeria. They can NEVER do without Nigeria. That coup Leader knows there is nowhere to go than to do the wish of Nigeria.

The moment you see the same people who supported Mr Peter Obi , Mr Nnamdi Kanu etc supporting the coupists, I knew the coupists are jinxed with bad luck of not getting their wish. Nobody or nothing they support ever ends well. Check my signature for free stuffs!

The issue is: Niger was suffering right from the get go...
I was shocked to even recently discover that those guys are the number one exporters of Uranium to France. Yet, they remain as poor as ever.
They simply revolted because their Government was just fattening France, while the masses suffered... in such situations, if a coup did not even occur, then a revolution would have been around the corner regardless.

The first response Nigeria gave after the coup, were sanctions, an ultimatum and a military threat... How can you use extreme force on one hand and send General Abdulsalam on the other hand... is that how international relations works?

Especially in a situation when a people are literally struggling for colonial liberation.

Nigeria is supplying niger electricity but cannot boast of 247 light. What nigeria cannot make you amazed of does not exist.
Nigeria has an agreement with Niger to supply them electricity in exchange for Niger not damming the Niger river.
If Niger dams the river Niger for electricity and irrigation purposes, we will be the ones needing to buy light from them, besides our farming will be affected.
Nigeria, sanctioning Niger with electricity despite the agreement has shown we are not reliable. In this case, it will not be out of place Niger makes it a policy to dam the Niger river once they attain stability.
