The biggest mistake Nigerian parents do is to prioritize on seeing your children through school without a clear plan about their lives after they graduate. Have you heard about living rich but die poor? This is often the outcome for many unlucky families that thread through this path. The society is unforgiving. Not only in Nigeria, but also in developed countries.

I call on all parents to invest in their children's lives beyond just going to school. Buy lands if you could, buy art works in the hope of passing it to your children for huge profits, build connections, get ready because if you retire one day, and your children are still unemployed, is it not back to poverty? Education alone doesn't pay in the 21st century. If you insist on investing solely on your children's education, then strive to make that investment abroad in developed countries. Don't fall into the modern scam called private universities in Nigeria.

Above all, force your children to learn skills. Tinubu doesnt care about who you are, or what struggles await the future Nigerians.

Some parents did all what you listed here and it still failed. As long as no one knows tomorrow, any thing can happen at any time and disrupt ones perfectly drafted and charted plan for their family.

Parents think that white collar jobs are the saving grace
Parents instead should prioritize skill learning acquisitions to be able to compliment and build an individual

This is Crystal truth, but many parents wouldn't listen, infact, many parents thought education alone will teach their children good moral and good up bringing. But there is more to it than being a graduate, morals are educate by parents and by the society at Large,

I think I was preaching this the other day when some people abused me and said I don't know what I was saying.

Retirement makes things clearer and brighter for understanding.

I wish many people would not say,had I know.

Parents can only provide what they can afford, everyone desires to have properties everywhere and own lots of things to benefit kids, and not all would be able to attain such feat, so the best they can do is to send the kids to school, so do not fault them for it, some that come from rich homes with properties and investments turn out bad, squander it all, and kill themselves in the process.

You were making point in your first paragraph but then derailed into a low thought process just like every other Nigerian.

You only identified a problem but your solution still rely heavily on parents to keep providing rather than looking beyond academic success and dig deeper into children's talent that can be harnessed for a brighter future.

There are footballers, wrestlers, programmers, musicians, actors, etc. Most of these careers are learnt outside the classroom.

Voice of god or any goddess is the worst unreliable thing to listen to

It's better to watch out for the kid if there is anything they have flare for (extra curricular or not) then you support them to explore it

Then most importantly let them mostly decide their path, expose them to different career counselling and option but final decision must be theirs to make without pressure from anybody

Some children decided to be useless no matter how you try to help them

Please hear this!!
do you know that untreated and mistreated infection can lead to infertility in men and women? have you been suffering from any kind of infections or growth inside your body such as:
staphylococcus (staph)
gonorrhea
vaginal yeast infection
trichomoniasis
vaginitis:
gardnerella
norovirus
streptococcus (e.t.c)
and all kinds of toilet infections? get rid of the infection using our number 1 herbal product.
stop managing infections, crush that chronic and stubborn infection and staph that refused to go and enjoy good health within 2weeks. you are just a phone call away to your permanent Solution.

You Nigerians that have been listening to the voice of god since 1960, where has that placed the country today?

Someone put up an insightful narrative and you just had to shovel your repugnant religious rhetorics into the affair. Is it that you're incapable of any other contributions than to promote ideologies that have failed to materialise positive results since time immemorial ?!

Most time we over-rely on God in Africa forgetting Gods willl never do for you what you can do for yourself.
This is why many sleep in churches , waiting to hear from God and shouting I receive when they are supposed to be investing for the future.
God said let there be light but we still need to buy bulb pay for electricity but for we can have the so call lights.
This is common sense you don’t need to hear from God.
The once who receive 1 talent kept while the the rest used theirs wisely just because the owner didn’t tell them what to do.
He was just saying use your common sense don’t expect God to do everything for you..
God will never do for you ,what you can you can do by yourself..

Yet, the same Solomon says, "Give portions to seven, yes to eight, for you do not know what disaster may come upon the land." Ecclesiastes 11:1

"Put your investments in several places — many places, in fact — because you never know what kind of bad luck you are going to have in this world." (GNB)

We should not blame the parents for educating and teaching their children good morals.

The problem is the bad system where elections are rigged, politicians loot and embezzle without flinching, ...

If a person wearing a clean white sparkling shirt dives into a dirty muddy swimming pool what do you think will happen to the shirt,?

Unless op want these parents to start teaching their children yahoo yahoo, kidnapping, arm robbery, terrorism, fraud, Looting and embezzlement.

This is so true!

While sending them to school, work out connections and keep reasonable assets. Not against your own pleasure though.

Generally, we should try giving our kids lofty take off points in life.

Leave God and His mention out of this for Pete's sake. Stop using God's mention to score cheap likes on topics that have absolutely nothing to do with God. Stop using God's mention as excuse to forego commonsense in your daily lives. undecided

Most Nigerians pretend to know God yet look around and see how truly vile they and their children continue to turn out. Does that scream care of God to you? Again, leave God's mention alone and consider commonsense first. undecided

Life's is 100% better when no one know anything about you.
You're at peace with yourself when you mind your own business.
You shouldn't take advice from people who're not where you want to be in life.
Life doesn't wait for you to be okay. Get up everyday and keep pushing through.
Never force anyone to choose you. You'll learn the art to spend time alone.
Master your emotions. A calm mind can handle any situation.
To avoid disappointment, you need to take people for who they're not for what you want them to be.
Everyone will show you who they're, just give them time.
Ensure you take good care of yourself, if anything happens to you, the world will move on.
Nobody cares, work hard to get better everyday.
If you don't work to build your own dream, someone will hire you and give you a purpose.
Free yourself from the society's advice, most of them have no idea of what they're doing.
You need to be smart enough to create your opportunities, don't wait for them to come to you.
