Why give us palliatives instead of jobs, electricity, and other basic amenities that the politicians enjoy when they travel out of the country?
That was how governors hijacked the covid19 palliatives. The same will play out

That is what the US did.
Almost $10,000 to each family with $2800 for each minor child.

We could buy all the rice we wanted.

WHY DOES THE NIGERIAN GOVERNMENT KEEP GIVING NIGERIANS EXPIRED RICE AS PALLIATIVES?

The cash would have been better.

Rice custom seize from people as if we don't know.

If they are able to enrol thousands into the nysc and Npower scheme and pay directly into accounts, I’m sure this is possible, but they would not do it cos it’s an Avenue to loot resources as usual. Governor go collect like 1bn for personal pockets.

First , Tinubu used it to settle govs but in name of masses (palliative)

Second, 80% of those that really needs palliatives don't have bank accounts.

To be honest, Nigeria problem too complicated and complex.

Though people have BVN, such money is usually given to the most vulnerable of society for which there is no data on. That's the Koko.

The very poor usually don't have bank accounts or a means to receive the money.

Northerners who comprise 80% of the poorest would be left out

So?, he is asking a good quesiton.

A sane government should have the records of all the people who live in its area....and everyone should have had access to a bank account by now...I mean., we now have the tech to do that.

LOL...that's another discussion for another day. cheesy

Seriously, Nigeria does not have enough money, because it is only oyel we rely on...and the oil money we get, on a good day, can sustain a naiton of probably less than 10 million people. Not 220 million.

The right decision is to empower the state and local governments by transferring the funds to the State and local government directly and letting them be responsible for the delivery of palliative at the state and local government levels.

If the process fails, the people should vote out the LGA chairman and state governor. Nigeria's poverty is directly linked to corruption, incompetence, and state and local government.

Everything in this country seems to be in the analogue way, despite the fact that technology is helping out this time.

Just few days ago, I read an online article that FG has released a sum of N5bn to States for subsidy Palliative and I wonder why doing so.

According to statistics, Nigeria's population is around 220m, then why is the FG giving N5bn to each state to use for palliative?

Why can't the FG pay in Nigerians directly into their accounts to support them in this trying time?

N500bn was already ear marked and approved for this subsidy removal Palliative.

This will even help to bring alot of people out of poverty and also support those doing businesses or another form of survival job.

Why is Federal Government giving states these money, knowing fully well that nothing will get to the populace.

Ordinary Covid 19 Palliative, we saw how all the states hid the pallatives, including traditional rulers, while the masses were crying of hunger.

The BVN can even be used to make these payments through the CBN directly to the accounts of every NIGERIAN. And even those that do not have accounts can even use the opportunity to create one and get their BVNs too.

Why is the NIGERIAN govt still practicing archaic administration? Why Why Why?

These said pallatives will be looted, some will be shared to party faithfuls and loyalists in all these states and not even the actual populace. Some will even use the pallatives for election Campaign and thereby making look like they're doing the people a favour.

Nigeria Why? Why are you still in this mudane practice?

You tried, but it might not work that way.. millions of people don't have access to banks. I have been to tick forest, inside inside, ugberia legos

obidient or not, he is right.

Paying people directly with their bvn is the sane thing to do instead of doing the old ways that never worked.

Those unbanked or donot have bvn will have to go to bank to get it. More plus for the economy banks and economy.

Am really laughing so hard by this your write up. Am sure u are feeling so smart about what u just wrote. First not all Nigerians are vulnerable, many of them don't need the handout, things may be very tough for them but they are not in d margins. Those that need it are those in desperate situations, can't even buy food to eat not to talk of data to brouse internet. So there can never be blanket credit to everyone's account,no country ever does that. Secondly don't run away from your responsibility to hold your governors accountable. You elected these people at the state level yet u pamper and give excuses for them. Let them do the distribution, they are closer to the grassroots. I live in Asaba, Delta State, d people here are so muted, they never criticize their governors. The gutters are filled with debris, d entire capital city has no mass transit, it's Keke all around yet just listen to their call in programs on radios, u hear them abusing FG, abusing Buhari, abusing Tinubu, blaming FG even for flood and sanitation. They will never criticize their governors, infact it's a taboo to call out their governors. NLC Joe Ajaero threatens FG daily, now FG has rolled out palliatives, let him send his state excos to call out d governors to also roll out palliatives from d billions they received in d last two months and let them monitor the rollout. Let us face our state governors

Not all Nigerians have bank accounts

It is even not advisable for Nigerians to save with banks after the Nonsense that CBN Governor Emefiele did during the Naira note design Change

It is far better for Nigerians to save using Gold instead
