Stop banning people from civil expression. Bottled up stuff shaken vigorously is dangerous. Never a good idea.

Government should learn to do the hard work of organising the game of democracy with the utmost regard for all the freedoms the Constitution guarantees.

That is the only way democracy can be made to work for the good of the country and the prosperity of the citizens of Nigeria.

When are we going to grow into democracy as a nation. When are our institutions going to grow into their roles of custodians of the Constitution. When will the security agencies learn the hard work of protecting the nation while permitting their freedoms.

Ban this, ban that is just a knee jerk, lazy reaction to the issues of governance. Kicking the can down the road is not a strategy, but a stunting of the growth of the nation.

Hehehe.

Let there be peace.

This is often the mistake.
People believing that contrary expressions are inimical to progress, that opposition automatically means chaos, that even checks and balances in governance is equal to wrestling, and the kind of war that must be avoided at all costs.

Meanwhile they live on a planet where the opposing magnetic forces protect the atmosphere from subatomic particle destruction.

They build automobiles with big engines commanded by throttles but with sophisticated brakes as well to guarantee the 'peace' of returning home safely.

And they take comfort in the fact that the higher power they worship is prepared to 'war' against the dark forces of Satan on their behalf to bring peace and order in their lives.

Yet ironically they feel that it is a sin, a grave error to argue, debate, oppose or be opposed in any way, shape or form in the challenging path to building a viable and prosperous society. How can this be possible. How?

How can you unite a society without hearing the other side, feeling their pulse, allowing them to vent their emotions and lending a hand of understanding to their views. How?

Nigerians are just not ready to develop. That is just my submission. We are just not knowledgeable enough to craft this nation.

ALL EYES ON THE JUDICIARY.
A supposed sovereign state is placing a ban on civil protest against bad leaders and stolen mandate.

We still have a long way to go in Nigeria

I wonder When a Twitter account called "Yoruba Times" became a credible source of news in Nigeria to the extent that contents from such accounts will be posted on Nairaland front page as credible news.. an account that was created less than 5 years ago, with less than 30k followers, becomes a source of news for Nairaland with over 3 million users, na wahh ohh.

Tribunal Reserves Judgement In Kano Gov Election Petition As Police Bans Protests

Following the adoption of final addresses by all parties, the governorship election petition tribunal in Kano State has reserved judgment on the petition filed by the All Progressives Congress, APC, challenging the victory of Governor Abba Yusuf of the New Nigeria People’s Party, NNPP.

The chairman of the three-member panel, Justice Oluyemi Akintan-Osadebay, revealed that the judgement would come earlier than the 180 days allowed by the law.

During its final address to the court, the APC urged the tribunal to uphold its petition and return Nasir Gawuna as the election winner.
Meanwhile, INEC, NNPP and Yusuf, on the other hand, urged the tribunal to dismiss the petition.

Tinubu had more votes than all other candidates in the north. Just manage your pains and move on.
