You dare not mention Jesus Christ in any mosque in Sokoto or any northern part of Nigeria mosque even though Isa is mentioned in Quran. You will get killed instantly if you dare it. You dare not mention Jesus Christ even in Muslim gathering in the north, not to talk of inscribing "Mary the mother of Jesus Christ" on the roof top of any mosque in the north and watch what happens.

If your assertion about the global Muslim population exceeding 2 billion were accurate, you'd logically expect that you & your family to be pretty much dead or crippled by rampaging all violent & killer Muslims by now. The Arabic translation of Jesus is Yasu, not Isa. Isa was merely a quranic character different from Biblical Jesus. Even Arabic Christians use Yasu, not Isa, to refer to Jesus.

And islamic Maryam is also a different character, different from the biblical Mary.

Stop embarrassing yourself. Jesus is 'Isa in Arabic. Even the name on that mosque has the Arabic translation written right beside it. If transliterated using English letters, it reads, "Masjidu Maryam Ummu Isa", which translates directly into English as "The Mosque of Mary, the Mother of Jesus". Ask anyone who can read the Arabic text to confirm. Notice how Isa was translated to Jesus and Maryam was translated as Mary?

In the context of English language, Muslims use the English rendition of the name (Jesus). And that's how the name is even written in English translations of the Qur'an.
