You don't understand. BRICS is a counterbalance to the G7. It's an economic front and it seems to be gaining ground than the G7.
The reason Russia has not been economically isolated in this war is because of BRICS.
Maybe they might add military to the mix later on but in terms of trade and economy, BRICS is really going well.

Why do you think China refused to publicly criticize Russia's invasion of Ukraine, even India, South Africa and other members?
Why do you think India and China not only renewed but also increased their oil import from Russia? Why do you think that China and India have been buying Russian oil in Rubbles, right from the beginning of the war? Why do you think these countries refused to sanction Russia? There are way too many questions you don't have answers to, just go read more about BRICS and know that it is not useless as you claimed. By the way, with this growing economic alliances, America and the rest of the West are gradually losing their grips.
