COMPAQ:

They should either concession or privatize it pronto!! If it remains in government hands, it will fall apart in 5years.

besides it has lost its market share to Eko Hotel convention center. The wealthy folks who can afford to use it are all in VI, Lekki, Oniru, Banana etc. They are surely not going to come to Iganmu for any ocassion.

Actually, it can be put to good use. Not all wealthy folks and companies stay on the Island. Some event centres in Ikeja are as good and as expensive as those on the Island and people patronise them.

Sometimes, you also find institutions organising trainings/seminars for their staff from across the nation preferring a central location for easy access and perhaps lower cost.

The ambience of the place and potentially beautiful environment will certainly attract tourists and other users.

It was a delightful place to be during and after FESTAC 77. It was our film viewing centre too.

Kudos to FG and the Bankers Committee for doing this.

Why is Emefiele not being prosecuted for this project?

It is NOT a Lagos State project, but an Emefiele/Bankers’ Committee project…
And if Emefiele is being persecuted for allegedly buying SUVs, shouldn’t he be shot for this one?! grin

PERHAPS, u need google to understand the MOU signed. EMEFIELE and CBN has no financial commitment in all this. THE bankers committee are the facilitators under a PPP partnership with the CBN and are billed to use the facilities for commercial purpose until 25 years or thereabout before returning it back to the FG.
THE wetland that would be developed alongside the iconic creativity structure would enhance tourist activity around the vicinity. BIG win for LAGOS and FG on the long run.
MAY God continue to bless LAGOS state.

Jubril A. Gawat, SSA To Governor Sanwo-Olu

National Theatre is ALWAYS under Renovation every year since 1999.

They Sold it.
They Reversed the sale.
They Concession'd it.
The JV'd it.
The MoU'd it
The Privatised it.

All just to have a non functioning property since 1999.

Work without significant impact and improvement over two years.

You guys are too negative with everything. Why are you all full of hate like this ?

Your level reasoning is poor. The job has been extremely slow since 2021 without significant difference. Dragging it to ethnicity proves your very very unfortunate and uniformed. When you see things not going well, voice out. The project is a national monument. It's one of the iconic image of Nigeria.

Abegi ease up on the arrogant ignorance…
The CBN Gov is the CHAIRPERSON of the Bankers Committee!

The CBN is part and parcel of the Bankers Committee…
Which consists of CBN Directors and CEOs of money deposit banks.

Anyway, as I previously stated, learning should be a LIFELONG enterprise…
Thus good that you seem to have some capacity to “google” and learn new things. Cheers. cool

Do you bother to know why the work has been slow Stop hiding under useless slow work or is your way. Even if the project takes 2 weeks you will still foolishly wail about one thing or the other. Learn to appreciate good things when you see it. A positive person person would have said this is nice but slow pace of work or something like that.

But hatred has been part of what you have been thought. You see no good in yourself talk more of others. This is same reason why you are all foolishly killing yourselves in your Biafra land. Hate consume people and it is consuming your people already.

Again, CBN ain't financial partner. IT'S chairmanship position is aimed at overseeing the activities of the banking sectors. Even the agreement on this deal leave out room for any bank not willing to commit to the project. SO it ain't a compulsory involvement for everyone AS IT'S ALREADY BEEN THAT SOME FEW HAD PULLED OUT.
