Ogbomoso Oyo state, not Kwara.
Influential to the establishment of federal university of technology Ogbomoso, now called LAUTECH.
People that don't know this normally called him " Banufe ", a Nupe man.
Abacha is not even a Kanuri man, he's from Chad.
I discovered this when I went to serve in North, they hated Abacha so much in Kano, one will think Abacha is the Shaitan they so much loath.
Lautech is a state university from onset.

No person from ss or se apart from the first lady
Military no send anybody. As you can see, Babangida surrounded himself with his fellow top military northerners as per security.

However, Aikhomu is from Edo State. He was more of a figure head than anything else.

He’s a Gwari man from Niger state.

Also Abdulsalam Abubakar.

He's from Niger state. A pure hausa man by tribe along with Abdusalam.

Abacha was a Kanuri man, while Buhari was a Fulani.

IBB and Abdulsalam are both Gwari from Niger state. They only speak Hausa as the lingua franca dominance in that state.

Maryam Babangida was truly a black beauty, so dark and lovely. Does anyone know which state in Naija she was originally from? I don't think there has ever been a lovelier first lady like her.
Delta.

Mother is Hausa from Niger state, Father is Asaba Igbo from Delta State.

She’s from Asaba in Delta state.

She influenced making Asaba as the capital of Delta. Initially, all the parameters for citing a capital favored Warri being the commercial and biggest city, but Maryam used her influenced as the First Lady to place it at Asaba.

Lagos was both a state and capital. That's why the 25 percent saga didn't affect the outcome of election then.

That part of the constitution should be adjusted since fct is only a capital, not a state
You are explaining it wrong to him. There were too Lagos. There was Lagos the FCT and Lagos the state. Inside Lagos the state you will find Lagos the FCT. Lagos the state was created in 1967 but Lagos the FCT was there since the colonial times and it was an island.
The scenarios of Lagos the FCT is quite different from Abuja the FCT.
When the idea in 1976 was to have a place called the FCT but later Abuja was added to it (I can't tell where the name came from).

The National Assembly was dissolved after the 1983 coup and there was no National Assembly from 1983 till 1991.

There is no special reason why he has the title president. He said that it just happened on the day, he picked the title without any special reason. He is not the first military officer in the world to have the title president. There have been many military presidents.
Yes, thanks, that was an error. IBB took over from Buhari, so there was obviously no NASS then, though NASS still returned during his tenure. I wasn't even born when IBB became president anyway.

Abuja won't be made a state because of the kind of problem that happened between 1979 and 1983 (I witnessed this problem).

The Federal Government was in Lagos and there was also the Lagos State Government. The Federal Government was controlled by the NPN, while the Lagos State Government was controlled by the UPN.

Lagos State Government created a TV station, Lagos Television, on Channel 5, Federal Government also created a television station, NTA2 Channel 5 on the same channel.

There was a lot of friction between the Federal Government and the Lagos State Government because they were being controlled by different parties.

Abuja indigenes have campaigned for democratic rights for a long time, but people don't want to give it to them because of the potential for conflict.

President Babangida gave it to them in the 1989 constitution (there was a provision for an elected Mayor of Abuja), but that constitution was never used. The Mayor of Abuja idea was not in the 1995 constitution.

In order to compensate them, previous governments have appointed FCT ministers from states that border Abuja, but FCT indigenes have often campaigned for a minister from the FCT. This is the first time that their wish has been granted (but he is not FCT minister).

Imagine if the Federal Government is controlled by APC and the Abuja Government is controlled by Labour Party.

You are wrong

Nothing like Lagos the fct. Lagos was both a State and a capital. Qed! That's how we grew up to know Lagos State until ibb moved capital to fct after the failed coup.

The word "federal " was never used , it was just "capital "

Thank God you said you didn't if what you said is true. It's not the reason. He was referred to as military president because he didn't dissolve the national assembly, so it was somewhat like a quasi-democracy govt. We link the US to almost everything that happens in Africa that it becomes stale and tiring.

Ok thank you for your perspective. Though a narrow one. The present military government today in Burkinafaso is very much pro Russia and very much the spirit of Thomas Sankara who was a Marxist, a Renaissance.

Lol..there was allegations about Trump's first term win being as a result of Russia's influence lol. This is by Americans. Am talking about less than 8 years ago.

It's the fact and a reality of our modern human social existence that the United States, Britain, France and Russia especially have great influence around the world.

Mind you RenaissanceGuy the bolded is a big fat lie.

In fact, it was to avoid such problem that Abuja was not made a state and the CEO made by appointment and not election.

IIGB0S are the official gutters of Nigeria and the last general elections should have told you that. Even when the Pandora criminal tried to whip up religious sentiments, it lead him only to everlasting disgrace and shame

God bless naptu2 for us. He had been delivering rich Nigerian histories back to back. However, one important piece of information he left out of the ceremony is the name of the band that played there. To help out, I think the band is the classy Wura Fadaka Band who rocked the musical scene in the 90s

The term fct is not synonymous wíth Lagos as capital. What we had then was Lagos as CAPITAL....Qed! Nothing like Lagos FCT . It never existed

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) is a federal territory in central Nigeria. Abuja, the capital city of Nigeria, is located in this territory. The FCT was formed in 1976[4] from parts of the states of old Kaduna, Kwara, Niger, and Plateau states, with the bulk of land mass carved out of Niger state. The Federal Capital Territory is within the North Central region of the country

I don't know what you guys gain by misinforming the public?
Gen Ibrahim Babangida is from Nupe tribe in Niger state.
I don't think the Hausa has a large number in the country. In the northern region, there are a lot of tribes but majority speak Hausa language as their own form of pigeon English. Just like in the southern part of Nigeria, they speak pigeon English as the common means of communication.
