My issue is the reality.

Billions on palliative and the remote neighborhood around me and I am yet to see people with palliatives.

Sharing money to family? Just make sure it's actually 500 families and not 50 families and the rest pocketed by thieves

N1m/family isn't bad, it will go along way in salvaging the situation.

The problem here is that we are in Nigeria and the money will find its way inside the pockets of a few greedy men who already have more than enough while those who are meant to benefit from it are further plunged deeper into poverty.

Truth is hard and costly in APC govt, lies and propaganda remain their watch word but it's still good for her to remember the poor masses they created through their gustoso pattern of policy. Nigeria don't want ant's pattern of palliative, but a good governance and policy.

It's a good and commendable initiative though a temporary solution.
However, if the money actually reaches the families that need it the most, it will definitely go a long way for them if used wisely.

I HOPE this is not how we will keep seeing initiatives and achievements in the media but nothing in reality...!


I'm already calculating how much of that money will be embezzled, that's if the dough is actually real.

If this is implemented judiciously, it is a fine initiative. I have no love lost for Tinubu, but if his wife and the people around her can facilitate an empowerment initiative this sensible, then the Iragbiji clown has to borrow some of the brains around his wife.

If families are picked on basis of workable outputs and their abilities to float Small scale businesses, 500 families can well be picked at an equal percentage from all wards in all LGAs. A million naira is enough to kick off and sustain a small business, even for a modest family of five. A reasonable family can even afford to have at least three household members learning new skills with a 300K while the other 700K goes to put down a small business dealing in daily consumables. It is way better than walking around LGAs sharing zip-lock bags of rice and nauseating ingredients.

That is of course, IF the money won't be embezzled by greedy government officials tasked with disbursement.
