Crude oil prices are shooting up on the international market.

The price of diesel has not been subsided for many years, so the government is not going to start subsidising diesel now.

All over the world, every one is complaining about the rising price of crude oil, which is currently about $95 dollars per barrel.

Go on you tube, you will see many videos of Americans complaining they cant even afford to buy fuel to drive to work!

Russia and Saudi Arabia are reducing supply in order to make more money. The rest of the world is screwed...for now.

Nigeria is no different. Are people in Ghana, Kenya, Japan, Sweden, UK, US buying diesel cheaper. No. Everyone is complaining bitterly.

This has very little to do with the Nigerian government.

Those who need diesel just have to adjust for now until crude oil prices comes down.

Please explain why the government then decided to devalue the naira when they have not started exporting anything of value to improve our balance of payments position and make imported diesel cheaper?

Nigeria doesn't buy oil from Russia or Iran you ode.
Nigeria produces it's crude oil then refines overseas (not in either Russia or Iran)

So you are just yaning pure dust sir.

Not surprised. The effect of political and economic greed with a good measure of rascality on the part of the political thieves cum elites, and foolish naivety on the part of some followers cum loyalists. Dead refineries, with next to zero production level, and import loving, crazed saboteurs.
December is coming. That's when the gravity of what ails this country would become pronounced.

If we are to go buy this your analysis, it means the Nigerian government is cashing out big time on crude oil because Nigeria is one of the largest producers of oil. We produce about 1.5 to 2 million barrels of crude oil per day but only consume around 600k of it.
So if everyone is complaining of high cost of crude oil, Nigeria and other OPEC countries should be happy.

But the issue with Nigeria is that when the price of diesel increases, the government cry. When it reduces again, they cry. I remember Buhari and his cohorts crying bitterly that there was no money to run the economy when crude oil was selling for 35 dollars per barrel.

What exactly do they want?

So as for everyone you said were complaining of hike in crude oil price, name one OPEC member country with a WORKING refinery, with EVIDENCE where people are complaining of hike in crude oil price.

You better look inward and know what our problem is instead of batching Nigeria with other non-oil producing countries.

If we refine our crude oil locally, and our naira is strengthened, we won't have to be at the mercy of Saudi and Russia. We will rather benefit and pray for continuous hike in price of crude oil.

So check your analysis again.
