There may be other pre existing health conditions. I have seen two doctors died of cardiac arrest.....one in Nigeria and the other in US. My health and work -life- balance was the reason I resigned from the usual 9-5 employee work and went solo to be on my own. I needed to take charge of my health, personal needs and career

Work life balance probably doesn't exist in the program. I mean residency programs are intense anywhere in the world. However, one aspect I noted about this story,if I talk now you people will attack me. After such a long shift, he should have gone to take a rest. But he sha still went to church. Pastors will always threaten members sometimes indirectly attack them if they miss church not knowing what they are going through in other areas of their lives. Or how they are making the money to sustain their livelihood or even donate to the church.At the end of the day, you NEED TO TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF FIRST because nobody really cares.My 2 cents. But he got home in the morning. Chose not to rest. But decided to attend church service.

This is what nepotism, bigotry and tribalism causes, we have told you people to elect competent citizens who will revamp every sector without minding whose Ox is gored, you guys said no that it must be Emilokan Tinubu. The earlier people realize that tribalism and nepotism is terrible when it comes to leadership the better for everyone.

That’s not true. It was not a mistake that we were born as Nigerians. It is the devil that has taken over the seat of the nation. That is why you and I must pray more for the judgement of God to pass through Nigeria. When the judgement of God is upon the earth, people will learn righteousness and do well. Do not forget that the rewards of the wicked cannot be overruled. They will perish here and hereafter. Those who surely make others to cry will not experience the mercy of God except they repent.

I am not aware of any deliberate govt. policy creating a large dept. for the courses you mentioned.
Many students desire medicine but cannot make the admission criteria. Who do you blame for that? Many student gain admission to study medicine but fall by the way side. Who do you blame for that?

The challenge is that most of the teaching hospitals should accept more students that wants to do internship instead of making it difficult. You will be surprised at the number of doctors looking for TH to do their internship.

And finally, no where in the world is the dept. of medicine a place for ALL AND SUNDRY.
