Unfortunately.

Nigerians don't listen to you again.

They know you'll backtrack as usual.

When the situation hits the people real hard, they don't need you to do the needful.

There's still so much hope in the land that mango will bear orange🍊

Well... The strike is firmly in Tinubu's hands.

If he wants the strike averted, he just needs to open up and tell Labor leaders the whole truth.

Labor leaders are not making impossible demands... All they are asking for is something called TRANSPARENCY.

Hehehe

What do you expect when the NLC has an ipobic president??

His own is just for Nigerians to sit at home as they do in the SE.

Everything about them is Nzogbu Nzogbu.

They don’t do their calculations.

Subsidy was removed 4 months ago, till date, nothing has been done. For how long would they wait?

Going on strike before the payment of September salary is ill advised. Where will the workers you claim to be fighting for get the money to stock food at home?

Labour really needs to be strategic and stop behaving like an arm of Peter Obi’s Labour Party. A partisan Labour union led by a partisan ethnic bigot will ultimately not help the cause of the workers.

Engagement is the only way. Sit down with the FG and other representatives of employers of Labour and engage them till a common ground is found. Shutting down the country will hurt the workers more than the government.

Federal workers have been paid September salaries already

Stop posting ignorantly for attention on a faceless forum. FG workers are yet to be paid and they are the ones leading the strike.

I really do hope the strike holds... we just can't continue like this... Nigerians are dying in silence... The inflation is nothing to write about... The FG should probably return the Subsidy until it has a concrete plan not some propaganda they keep feeding the poor masses... We have waited enough for things to turn around for good but it keeps getting wesser.

Well... They have given an early notice... The leaders of the nation have ample time to avert the strike.

All Labor is asking for is TRANSPARENCY.

You can't ask the citizens to suffer while you keep running the nation anyhow without giving full accounts.

Up till now, none of us can claim to know how much has been realized from subsidy removal or what the money has been used for.

The recent rumor of subsidy still being paid while fuel price stays high makes it more pertinent for this Strike to hold.

You people should stop this zombie mentality & be reasonable for once! Even if they are paying u guys to make these senseless posts, don't u have relatives being affected by this hardship? Anyone still saying labour wasn't patient enough is evil. Since May? How long did it take FG to remove subsidy? Why is it now taking forever to address labour union concerns? I blame labour for falling into the antics of FG all these while instead of embarking on strike!

When Collective Bargaining Goes Partisan, With The Cloak Of Populism

People are advised to stock their homes with food. Where on earth do they expect the majority of Nigerians, who live by the day, who earn by the minute, to get money to stock food?

I appreciate the right and essence of Nigerian workers to collective bargaining, but then, there is no ingenuity about their workings. It's the same simplistic, humrum routine of going on strike every time they are at odds with the government. Couldn't they devise other means of public displeasure?

Shutting down an already battered economy is a brutal continuation of the misery Nigerians are going through. At this stage it becomes counterproductive.

I don't see the strike going the whole mile. People will get hungry, ,angry, despondent, frustrated, and will defy organized labour.

If u were a worker, and you buy food stuff, pay ur kids school fees, pay ur wife and kids hospital bills, electricity bill, house rent, buy kerosene or gas, u will understand better that not going on strike is suicidal

Ideally when large unions go no strikes like these they have strike funds or provisions stocked up, which they'll use to ease the pain of their members.

You are on NL typing rubbish without even knowing the demands of NLC and TUC, you don't even know that NLC does not cover only govt workers.
CharleyBright:
Ok.
I am strongly against Tinubu govt (he is a criminal and a forger). But this NLC leaders are not sincerely fighting for the interest of the masses.
What exactly is their demands?
Is demanding for salary increase the best way to hold this useless Tinubu govt to Ransome?
Is their demands addressing the yearnings of the entire nation or just serving the interest of a few govt workers?
The subsidy removal affects every Nigerian. NLC can't be demanding increase in salary for only govt worker that are less than 6% of entire population.
What happens to non govt workers?
Instead of NLC demanding for the building of a new refinery or repair of existing ones to solve the actual problem, they are demanding for pay rise as if that's the solution.
What about NLC demanding that govt cut down on governance and jumbo pay to govt officials so as to save monies for infrastructures?
How about NLC demanding that govt start converting illegal refineries into modular refineries so as to refine some quantity of petroleum for local consumption and ease petroleum importation that is pushing the dollar upward?
How about NLC demanding that govt both federal and states roll out busess across the federation on on to ease transportation costs.
The idiotic fools who constitute the leadership of NLC are focusing on increased salary. Meanwhile NLC have not even started paying minimun wage of 30k to their staff in NLC., They are here clamouring for salary rise as if they will pay their staff.

You are right about the strike. It’s ill advised. But I don’t get Peter Obi’s connection with it. Pray enlighten us, I feel that your reference to him detracted from the seriousness of the issue at stake - I’m neither igbo nor partisan, just a Nigerian with an interest at stake!

Other states can join the strike
But that Lagos?
They will never join any industrial action .
You want them to embarrass and disgrace their Master at the top?
Just wait till Monday.. you'll see LASG issuing directives to civil servants to resume work on Tuesday even tho we all are suffering about maladministration of the country.. Lagos will still stand with the FG rather than the masses and the gullible workers will follow suit
