The Supreme Court has held that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) does not have the powers to prosecute offenses that are not corruption cases and that the only corruption cases it can investigate are cases involving the movement of cash from Nigeria to foreign countries and corruption cases involving federal finances, being a creation of federal law.

EFCC should not arrest anybody unless the allegation is about "illicit financial outflow from Nigeria", or "corruption cases involving federal finances".

EFCC should stop harassing a particular group of young men just because they appear to be doing well financially.

It's seems Nigerians have been so traumatised that we can differentiate between abuse and rights anymore. In a country where human rights and dignity are respected, law enforcement agencies don't break into your house at midnight without a search warrant. They don't break down your gates and doors asking you to open your laptops and phones fishing for crimes. They certainly don't arrest you and lock you up indefinitely while fishing for evidence.

The national assembly need to make laws regulating the conduct of law enforcement agencies. Any evidence obtained illegally or under duress should not be admissible in court. With the present laws governing the evidence act, which admits any evidence no matter how it was obtained, law enforcement agencies they don't need to follow law in obtaining evidence.

I thought EFCC denied invading that same house. So they waited for the evidence they requested for to be released before agreeing to their unlawful invasion.

Stop advertising your ignorance on social media.

Arrests can be made at any time of the day. Show me which country will law enforcements agents need to write a formal letter telling criminals the time of day they would be arrested.

The reason most law enforcements agents make arewsts at night is because most of these fradstars are very very funny and move discreetly to evade arrest.

In those countries you talk about, Skales would be arrested along with his mentees as an accomplice and charged to court
because harbouring criminals is a crime anywhere in the world.

EFCC are blatant t liars obviously else why would they deny it in the first place. Whatever the reason, they were wrong, afterall they also claim it was not their modus operandi and if they now say this, then they definitely need to apologize to skales

Nigeria, full of anyhow and nonsense entities
Re: How We Arrested Two Internet Fraudsters In Skales’ House – EFCC by Gboom: 5:25pm On Oct 10, 2023
The EFCC spokesman that denied the invasion needs to be sanctioned.

Meanwhile, Skales is not even telling the whole truth to gain public sympathy

No one is arguing that arrests can't be made at anytime of the day. What I am saying is that law enforcement agencies can't break into your homes and offices without a search warrant. They can't invade your privacy fishing for a crime. Before now EFCC and police break into hotels and bars arresting young boys and then looking through their phones fishing for crimes. This is illegal in all sane countries. Now they are breaking into people's homes fishing for crimes. If you don't see this as demeaning and an abuse of citizens rights and dignity, then you are part of the problem.

It's not even about wrongfully or rightfully accusing anyone. It's about respect of the rights and dignity of citizens. There are more legal and dignifying way of catching Internet fraudsters. First and foremost its not a violent crime, so all theses SWAT type arrests are unnecessary. If laws are in place for citizens to show their source of income and tax receipts, most criminals would be caught. But then the ruling elites who are the biggest criminals will never enact such a law, that's because all political office holders and their cronies who become billionaires and trillionaires without any visible business or pay taxes would all be caught.
Nigeria is not the only country with Internet fraudsters, but Nigeria is the only country that arrests boys, search their phones and laptops fishing for evidence, before establishing that they are fraudsters.

The very fact that you are a mentor to someone in a specific area, and in this case in think music. Doesn't mean you know all what the said individual is involved in.

Your comments exemplify why oyinbo call black people monkeys or why the black man worst enemy is another black man... why?... ask yourself why you are comparing mango to kola nut? Is it because we can't compute or we just don't like the color mpute?

Wetin concern Israel and US police for skales house?

When NEPA no supply you light, just sit back and say to yourself that somewhere in the world there is no NEPA so you are good... no need to ask those in charge of NEPA to do their job because for mars there is no light.

FreeStuffsNG:
Stop being inferior. As recent as few weeks ago, police in the US raided the home of a 90-something old woman who owns a community newspaper and later denied it until the cctv video was released and they admitted. It has nothing to do with your black skin so stop having low self esteem. Institutions fail, even Isreal intel failed them on Saturday till now.

Will you shut up...... So law enforcements will just break-in to a civilian house at ungodly hours on mere suspicion or you didn't read where the statement said "suspected"?. You people enjoy living like animals in this country. I don't blame the Southeasterners that call Nigeria a zoo and want to breakaway. What happened to surveillance?. What happened to arrest warrants?. The norm here is for law enforcements to raid a particular place and look up the criminal code to find something to accuse the persons of and you find it normal. Infact, shut up in Jesus name.

You are mentally unstable to compare bankers with thieves.

That a few bankers misbehave doesn't mean "all bankers are thieves".

That a few pastors are fake, doesn't mean "all pastors are fake".

That some doctors are quacks, doesn't mean "all doctors are quacks".

Can you say for your yahoo boys?
