Nigerians and any how preparation. They should have thought of the best way to rectify it. Agreed that CAF made a mistake, I am sure that Enyimba knew about the mistake but failed to take action to remedy the situation.

So akwa ibom stadium is the only stadium we have in this country?

Are they even paying the state government for using the stadium?

The Secretary that made that mistake should have been made to wear the jersey and play instead. On a more serious note, the AFL should not be played within continental season. It's a distraction to the champions and confederation cup. If at all, it can be organized during the off season.

The African Football League is the brainchild of FIFA. FIFA believes that African football can raise a lot of money if the biggest and most popular clubs play in a special league. It believes that this money can then be invested in infrastructure like stadiums and training grounds.

However, critics say that football authorities opposed a super league in Europe, but they are encouraging one in Africa and this is hypocrisy. They say that the AFL will not raise as much money as FIFA thinks and they argue that it might damage already existing competitions like the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup.

This is the inaugural edition of the competition.
They probably want to use Africa as guinea pigs for the "real" super League in Europe, which is almost certain to happen sooner or later

Why taking the match outside ur fan base? The game lacked home support and it led to defeat. I remember that club during orjizor time.

Well, that is what we re talking about...Nigeria league is rubbish.
The match would have bn played in aba but no, the stadium is not up to standard..

Excuses & Explanations as usual.

Whenever you see lapses, know that somebody, somewhere failed in his duties either due to Incompetence or Negligence.

But worst part is nobody takes responsibility to face punishment.

Nigerians always find who to blame of their corrupt practice. Are you not supposed to check and recheck before printing?
The same way tinubu is blaming innocent fellow in his certificate. You graduated since how many years and you didn't find way to rectify your so called mistake until your opponent use it against you then you start blaming the school typist.
Back to Enyimba. Who are they going to blame for losing at home? Is it the club secretary Or the supporters?

I don't know though but Uyo is still Nigeria. What would it cost Enyimba to transport their fans from ABA to Uyo.
The argument is not tenable even Enyimba didn't play as if they had anything at stake. One million dollar already guaranteed for participation and for every winnings another 1 million dollar but our dear Enyimba seemed not prepared at all. Give them extra 45 minutes, they won't still score. I saw Mamelodi fans in Angola during their games and that's another country for that matter.
Enyimba and their management are not serious boss.

Nigeria league is becoming one of the worst
League is Africa.... Every kind of evil officiating is possible in the league ..
A league where three straight home corner kick can be awarded as penalty..
Nna don come, you complain about everything !

No matter how bad Nigerian refs are, they are not as bad as English refs , but you people keep promoting them day by day with all their blunders and so many fraudulent decisions, you keep loving their league and move on as if nothing has happened. undecided

Enyimba Football Club of Aba lost 0-1 to Wydad Athletic Club of Casablanca at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium, Uyo in the brand new African Football League on Sunday, but the attention of Nigerian football fans was focused on the jersey of Innocent Gabriel Okey. It looked like his jersey number was handwritten with chalk.

Very many Nigerians slammed Enyimba on Nairaland, Twitter and Facebook and the club has now provided an explanation for the strange jersey.

According to Enyimba, there was a mix up when Innocent Gabriel was being registered and he was registered with the number 3, instead of 5. He had a perfectly normal printed number 5 jersey, but he couldn't wear it because he was registered as number 3, so they had to quickly create a number 3 jersey for him.

Gross ineptitude. Is it that they don't have a copy of the reg list to rectify the error before the match day?
How can a player be wearing two different Jersey no in different competition in the same season

Someone should take responsibility for that and be fired without remorse without which stupid errors as such is bound to repeat itself. We have many people who are capable to serve in that particular office. Africa should stop tolerating mediocrity.

Paddy paddy administration is bound to tolerate mediocrity. Africa which way?

it's really interesting that super league rejected in Europe is being tested in Africa.. it's a shame... Why not use the vigour to make the CAF champion league and confederation cup More glamorous... As for enyimba see how Kanu is being chairman ooo.. shebi he played for arsenal is that how they run football there.. Alex otti should have Left anyansi agu but no... Same way I keep saying we don't need a foreign coach for our national team football...

is that how Manchester united and other big teams transport their fans... Pple pay premium subscription as supporters of football clubs around the world... So u want govt that owned enyimba to spend scarce resources to transport fans for a game enyimba ll still lose... Some of u think football is charity per say that's why the League is anyhow here...
