FG said its modular refinery is now completed and is set to increase capacity in the commercial sector.

In addition to this, the FG claims that its Petroleum Training Institute trains artisan refiners.

It noted that the refinery will advance technologies even though it is not as big as the Dangote refinery.

The Petroleum Training Institute (PTI) under the Federal Ministry of Petroleum Resources, has announced the completion of its modular refinery with plans to increase its capacity for use in the commercial sector. According to Punch report, PTI, based in Effurun, Delta state, also reportedly teaches artisanal refiners the abilities necessary for processing crude oil.

Speaking in a press conference in Abuja, Adebowale Adimula, the Chief Executive of PTI, said: "One of the areas that we have been looking at over the past few years is developing technologies in the modular refinery space. We are a training institution primarily, but when you look at the country today and the lack of technology among the artisanal refiners, one of the things we have done is to develop concepts."

To enable them to make a real contribution to the economy, he continued, the ministry is doing things differently by providing them with the training and tools they need. He said that the refinery will develop innovations in the modular refinery arena, even though it is smaller than the Dangote facility in Lekki, Lagos. Adimula added: "The facility we are working on is not to create a refinery that will now be like the Dangote refineries of this world, no. Our primary focus, which we are not losing sight of, is that we are a training institution and whatever we develop will help the advancement of technology in that space."

Let's hope it works.

Most motives behind many good gestures get defeated before the implementation due to greed lately

These are modular refineries, and I believe itโ€™s smaller than normal refineries.

I stand to be corrected!

Useless Tinubu increased fuel price. At #198 per litre, government was making profit in fuel importation.

This increase in fuel will destroy our local production and dollar will continue to rise. No country survive on high energy.

No investor would invest where energy is very expensive.

They are just wasting their time saving d Naira. You don't feed somebody, you are giving him injection.

Which Children of hate? The PTI Refinery is a long time project that started since 6 years ago before you attribute it to your failure of a dullard in Abuja.
Meanwhile, it's purpose was not purely for large commerce. It's a Training Institute project meant first for training purposes then if its quantitative output decreases the fuel problem, better

The tribalism on nairaland is going extreme

Most atimes I don't bother going through the comments anymore because definitely you will see things that are out of context

The rule now is "once your tribe is not affected, you are very ok and happy with any bad news"

Tribes wishes tribes death
You always see dark hearts in the comment session

nairaland has been a major search engine for many
It was not this bad before now

Every state should build modular.

Edo state has built their own.

Waiting for giant refinery like dangote will take ages. Removing subsidy without refinery is not a wise thing to do.

The economy has been grounded. More people in poverty and business suffered and dwindling purchasing power.

Tinubu is not a good leader as it can be seen with his 100days in office.

Suffering from the very day he was swear in. He destroyed the country with no help in sight. He needs to go back to the policy of buhari and start over again. His policies is just destroying the country. Even if salary's are increase it won't even solve the continue inflation problem.

It canโ€™t always be politics.
We desperately need for Nigeria to work but is it working?
Have you ever been jobless, broke, kidnapped on a highway or attacked in your home? Our leaders who go and invest in foreign countries with funds meant for national development do they experience such things there?
Those who travel abroad for leisure or medical treatment do they enjoy the failures that they inflict upon us here in those climes?
Can we call white black just because of political interests?

The biggest children of hate is people like you who will never say the truth to people in power.

Patriotism is loyalty to ones country, not to people in power
