The Labour Party (LP) has announced its decision to move on following the Supreme Court judgment that affirmed the victory of Presidential Bola Tinubu in the February 25 election.

Julius Abure, the LP National Chairman, made the remark while accusing the Supreme Court of shredding the fabric of justice and good conscience in its verdicts.

The Justice John Okoro-led five-man panel of justices had thrown out LP presidential candidate, Peter Obi’s appeal challenging Tinubu’s victory in the last presidential election.

Obi had called for the disqualification of Vice President Kashim Shettima due to double nomination.

He claimed that Shettima was not qualified to serve as Tinubu’s running mate during the last presidential election.

But, Justice Okoro of the Supreme Court said it cannot allow the matter of double nomination to be relitigated.

The justice recalled that the apex court issued a judgement on the matter when it was before a lower court.

“This matter ought not to have come here. When the matter was pending at the trial court, this court delivered judgement on it. This appeal lacks merit and is hereby dismissed,” the court ruled.

In a similar vein, the apex court dismissed the appeal of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, challenging Tinubu’s victory.

Faulting the Supreme Court judgment, Abure described the verdict as disappointing while expressing hope for the future.

A statement by Abure reads partly: “The leadership of Labour Party watched as the sacred fabric of justice and good conscience was shredded today at the Supreme Court as it delivered its verdict in the case between our party, the presidential candidate and the APC presidential candidate.

“We are indeed very shocked and surprised that even the apex Court will toe the line of an earlier judgement in spite of all the flaws associated with the judgement delivered by the Presidential Election Appeal Tribunal.

“Having conclusively exercised our fundamental rights as gifted to us by the laws of the land, we have no other choice but to move on. We may be disappointed and dismayed by the outcome of the exercise, but we have chosen to trudge on and to remain optimistic of what the future holds for the nation.

“We weep for our institutions that cannot rise to the occasion and courageously defend democracy and the voices of our people.”

Bros even if dollar gets to 5000
Inflation hits 120%

Insecurities increase
Salaries can't even buy anything

This people would support Tinubu ...it's that simple ...to them it's like fanning a football team ...they rather continue to struggle than their party to lose

Am sure APC are shocked by the things they could get away with

It's the sad reality and the worse is people like that are in the majority

If elections hold today millions would still vote Tinubu that's the truth

Tinubu rigged yes but you need to get a certain number before you could rig if not it would be obvious like rivers and benue

You can't rig from 10% to 51% ...but you can rig from 45 to 51%

Tinubu didn't win but he got substantial votes

The fact he got that much votes should worry any Nigerian

It's a big shame to the judiciary. If the president was not sworn in before concluding this matter in court, he would not have won those cases.

Nigeria Judiciar is a branch of any ruling party. Incdunig INEC.

I tell you, Tinubu is the smartest Nigerian politician ever lived. He was able to pull this string emascukating the whole institution of Nigeria, religious institutions even emasculated Buhari and the APC faction that wanted to deny him the ticket . He also emasculated Chicago state University.

I detaste the man's character. But he is a legend.

He is stronger than any human being living in Nigeria.

The fact that you are supporting Obi is a testament to the fact that you have nothing upstairs. You can't see real intelligent people supporting a mediocre cool

This judgement in favor of Tinubu and APC against the overwhelming evidence of perjury and forgery which should automatically disqualify Tinubu is a verdict on Nigeria. With what that happened today, Nigeria's fate is sealed as a failed nation devoid of morals or dignity.

Tinubu's win at the supreme court is a boost for criminality and everything bad in Nigeria.Students can now proceed to forge academic records without any consequences. Politicians vying for political office can present forged documents to INEC and win election without any consequences.

Tinubu's victory at the supreme court is the final nail to the death of our constitution and what is left of our moral compass as a nation. If Nigerians don't protest this injustice done to them then it is a sign of acceptance and we have no reason to complain when labelled as a failed nation or evil nation. It is also glaring that there is nothing left to hold on to as far as Nigeria's international image is concerned.....

What choice do you have?

The Labour Party Chairman says one thing, Yunusa Tanko is saying they would go to the court of the masses, Aisha Yesufu says all sorts, and Kenneth Okonkwo is saying his own.

Who is the publicity secretary of Labour Party? The party seems to lack organization.

They should take a stand, and everyone should toe that part despite his reservations.

Labour Party should get their acts together.
