Vice President Kashim Shettima says education and skill development are the answers to Nigeria’s hunger and poverty.

He made this statement at a meeting with a group from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation on Wednesday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.

The trip was led by Mr. Rodger Voorhies, President of the foundation’s Global Growth & Opportunity Division.

Vice President Shettima emphasised how climate change affects agricultural productivity and how vital it is to implement climate-smart farming practices in order to guarantee food security for Nigeria’s expanding populace.

The Vice President, therefore pleaded with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to establish a strategic alliance with the Nigerian government in order to boost the country’s agricultural output, enhance nutrition, and fortify the educational system.

He tasked the Foundation with assisting President Bola Tinubu’s activities pertaining to gender empowerment, emphasising the importance of girl-child-focused programming to Nigeria’s efforts to reduce poverty.

Vice President Shettima conveyed his gratitude for the foundation’s noteworthy contributions to Nigeria, especially in the fields of primary healthcare delivery and the eradication of polio.

“We are investing heavily in agricultural innovation and best agricultural practices to enhance productivity.

“However, we need the expertise and resources of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation to accelerate our progress,” he added.

Poverty eradication in Nigeria?
So that people cannot be buyable during elections? Impossible.
Impoverishment is a beautiful tool in this country. The goal now is complete elimination of the middle class.
Without the middle class in a society, a leader becomes the most powerful.

The educated have been frustrated in Nigeria. The easiest and most stressful job in Nigeria for graduates is teaching job and many of them wait patiently for 26-day working to receive meagre salary of N15,000.

Jokers

How much did you budget for the so called "panacea for poverty eradication"?

What happened to the almajiri schools the hated GEJ set up?

Is it a foreign foundation that will come and lift over 100m pupils and students out of the poverty? When did this responsibility stop being that of the Nigerian Leaders? Lol.

Story story.

If he is not just telling us meaningless stories, then why did he not build classrooms, laboratories, libraries and recruit teachers and other staff to have every single Borno child in free schools during his eight years as governor

The only necessary education now is secondary school and Google. If you like keep getting decieved by education beyond basic education. It's programed for your detriment
