IVORY2009:
The city with the highest number of universities in Nigeria is **Abeokuta** in Ogun State. Abeokuta has 8 universities, accounting for almost half (47%) of the total number of universities in the state. Here's a list of the universities in Abeokuta:

1. Federal University of Agriculture, Abeokuta (FUNAAB)
2. Olabisi Onabanjo University (OOU)
3. Moshood Abiola University of Science and Technology (MAUSTECH)
4. Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED)
5. Crescent University (CU)
6. Babcock University (BU)
7. Mountain Top University (MTU)
8. McPherson University (MU)

Abeokuta's concentration of universities can be attributed to several factors, including its strategic location, historical significance, and conducive environment for academic pursuits. The city is well-connected to major transportation hubs, making it accessible to students from across the country. Additionally, Abeokuta's rich cultural heritage and relatively peaceful atmosphere contribute to its appeal as a university town.

The presence of numerous universities has had a significant impact on Abeokuta's economy and social fabric. The influx of students and faculty has boosted local businesses and fostered a vibrant intellectual community. The city has also benefited from the contributions of these institutions in terms of research, innovation, and community engagement.

Overall, Abeokuta's position as the city with the highest number of universities in Nigeria reflects its commitment to education and its role as a hub for academic excellence in the country.

It's high time some people need to be thought State and Capital. The questionnaire said Cities which this reply I dictated Abeokuta but I was surprised when the person began to add The University in Ilaro, and Ijebu Ode.
Oga if will go by what you listed above zero your score

Instead of googling, most posters chose to be ignorant. Even Abuja have more universities than Ibadan and Ogun states

He listed universities in other towns in Kano state instead of listing only universities in Kano city.

However, Ogun state has 17 universities.

Aside from ibadan wey rep oyo state. Oyo city also has 3 universities.

Ibadan stands out

1. University of Ibadan
2. Dominican University
3. Kola Daisi University

All the above universities are situated on ibadan land. If there is other city that comes near this (even if it's by have), you can state for mentioning purpose only.

Here's a list of the cities in Nigeria with the highest number of universities:

1. **Abeokuta, Ogun State:** 8 universities
2. **Ibadan, Oyo State:** 7 universities
3. **Lagos:** 6 universities
4. **Port Harcourt, Rivers State:** 5 universities

These cities are home to a significant number of universities, contributing to Nigeria's higher education landscape. Abeokuta, in particular, stands out with eight universities, making it the city with the highest concentration of universities in the country.

Abeokuta has just four universities.

For me, I think Ibadan has the most number of universities. I don't know about other cities in Nigeria.

Sadly, most commenters seem to have comprehension issues. A city is different from a State. Polytechnic is not the same as university.

That's how people fail exams and blame village people or the examiners without scrutinising themselves.
