Waraqa was a resident of Makkah and not Medina. He died even before the Prophet commenced preaching and he stayed 13 years in Makkah before migrating to Medina.

On the Christian Community, I repeat non existed Medina at the time of the Prophet. What you read in that Hadith are Companions saying what they noticed the Christian community do to call people for worship.

Yes there are Christian communities in Arabia but no so much in Medina.
