Hahahaha, bro that was the same mindset I had for Sudan trained doctors until I met a couple of them , those guys are really sound I swear and they have good and standard medical school over there.

The only issues I had with them was attitude to work, them no like stress at all. But academically those guys are really sound.

You'll go to the hospital one-day to complain of toothache and a dentist will use screwdriver and plier to remove your teeth.

Why d'you guys always see negativity in everything? BLAME, BLAME, BLAME, all the time.

Is the process of getting admission in Nigeria not corrupt? Lol.
heykims:
Majority of these candidates simply traveled out to study Medicine because they couldn't get admission for Medicine in any Nigerian university.
Anybody who has the money can always travel 'abroad' to study medicine.
The way Nigeria trained medical doctor troop to write UK exam is the way our brothers abroad also troop in to sit the MDCN examination, many usually fail though.

Nebes:
Medical professors in the UK and US will fail Nigerian MDCN exams. They structure the exam for the people to fail.
If you know how they twist their questions in Nigeria you'll pity Nigerian medical students. That's why Nigerian doctors do extremely well abroad where things are straightforward.

you got it, how come same doctors who failed this mdcn exam will now go and write usmle, plab and pass at one attempt?

Nigeria syllablus is wack and unnecessarily bulky with old contents, it's not reviewed and revised. Secondly Nigerian CBT is below standard. The automated marking system has to checked as i don't think they make adequate provision for all types when automating the marking system. Jamb is having this problem, u see smart students scoring very low and you're wondering how n then a below average student scoring high which is hard to explain.
I graduated with a 2:1 here but my friends who I'm more intelligent than are practicing medicine today after graduating from China n Ukraine respectively. Na Anatomy I end up with. I'm still planning on going back to sch but I need make money first. God dey!

These foreign doctors were probably not trained or raised to face the rigourous and stressful ways Nigerian trained doctors are conditioned to write exams and pass them despite hardships of medical school.
They're probably not used to negative marking and unnecessary twisting of lexicon in the question to deliberately confuse you into failure.

When they sit for foreign exams like PLAB and USMLE, they'll usually ace them.
MDCN should probably look into itself as an exam body.

Well, if they want to work here, they should study in line with the requirements of MDCN same way they'll do for a foreign exam. Just like you have to pass the Nigerian Law School exams if you want to practice law in Nigeria. Our peculiarities differ so there's no basis of comparison. They have the option of the foreign exams too anyway.

They did well. Australia has never had over 25% pass rate. The exam is not child's play. If you're not a medical practitioner, you will not understand.

When I saw the names of countries where the doctors studied I began to wonder .... is the MDCN exam outdated?... and those who passed were those who studied in the countries where the exams are also outdated? .... or is it the exam is up to date with current practices and those who passed are those who studied in " better countries" where the exams are based on current practices?

I'm not stoned enough to understand this back and forth question

And how would they get the license to practice?
You think any doctor can be hired or practice without a license? Your degrees alone won't get you a job

But we still got some quacks in the system, how did they get their licence?
Who is a quack?
This is the definition, from a dictionary
Quack
noun
noun: quack; plural noun: quacks
a person who dishonestly claims to have special knowledge and skill in some field, typically medicine.
"a quack doctor"

From this definition a quack never gets an authentic license. May be practicing without license or forged licence.
So any doctor you see that has a license is not a quack. Cure your ignorance

Not true. They use negative marking abroad.
The issue is MDCN exam methodology and syllabuses

Why are you so hellbent on spoiling the Nigerian name? People like you will attribute the worst things to this country, even things that haven't happened.
The problem with some of you guys is that you pretend being patriotic by turning a blind eye to all the nonsense going on in the country.

Nothing is working in Nigeria, a so-called giant of Africa still can't provide citizens constant power supply but expect them to pay bills at the end of the month. If you talk they'll say you're spoiling the country's name.

You know those with connection will always have their way in Nigeria even if they ain't qualified so stop the pretence.

Na who never write Bar Finals before go think say Nigerian Professional Exams Na Child's play,,, many foreign trained Lawyers de choke when de pass Bar 1 , begin face Bar 2 .

I'm not surprised that many failed ,, many weren't taught very well in the first place, imagine a Medical Doctor trained in Guyana , Wetin he go Sabi ?

If only Nigeria will just find a way to have good Leaders who will focus on the Health sector, foreigners are supposed to be coming here for Medical Checkups and treatment and not the other way round..
