And you didn't see the owned in parenthesis?.

By the way, that's how vanguard reported.

Apparently you didn't read the interview, you're only here to run around.

The woman said it's not all parts of Lagos.

She said she's of Benin lineage.

The owned is in parenthesis.
Rest. Ewu
Is your brain fermenting, did you read the junks before bringing it here?. Did you read where she said Lagos is an extension of benin kingdom, it is a territory of benin?, so what horseshit are you smoking on?. Putting a word in parenthesis is mere pandering to nuances and is subjective. Benins migrated from edo, settled on a tiny island where they met the natives, yet claiming ownership. parasitic history.

History is good.

But of what significant importance is this information? Will Benin start collecting taxes from Lagos with this information or just for bragging rights?

This is another bunch of clueless liars and propagandist looking for attention from the general public. No one will give this one any public attention. What she’s saying here is clueless lies and propaganda. She didn’t know history at all. Awori established and found Lagos Before Benin king come to create a hut 🛖 in one of the island in Lagos . Nigerians should read history please. Don’t let anyone deceive you with lies and propaganda here.

Those who come from other places like Osun, Illorin, Ibadan... instead of going to develop their ancestral states, they are claiming Lagos, Lagos built by FG money, south south oil money, Benin empire, British, and others.

Fulanis have taken over illorin, Emir has instituted Sharia law, yet them no go save illorin, na Lagos developed by FG and Niger Delta oil money dem wan claim. Mad people.

These idiots don't even have one room in Lagos grin

She's a pained bîtch cos of the tussle btw Akitoye & Dosunmu. Whichever ways, she mentioned logic. If she has sense, she ll know Aworis founded Lagos and Lagos is Yorubaland. Geographical proximity is enough reason to accept that.
Also, all insignia and items of Lagos are Yoruba. Same way most from Benin are Yoruba extension. Let's use logic n common sense since Erelu Pain-anal Kuti can't be truthful!

I must read it all. We die here.

Here are the points I'm coming up with:

1. I blame the Nigerian media for continuing to reinforce the fake relevance of low lives like Asari Dokubo. When he was running his mouth on this issue where he lacks authority, I was disappointed that his hackneyed views were reported by some national newspapers. Now, watch as his overbloated arrogance will not let him apologize for insulting the Oba of Benin so callously even after hearing from someone with a stronger authority on the matter.

2.

At first, this woman appeared to say that the Bini people lost their authority over Eko through a conquest sustained. Again, she seems to talk as if there is an ancestral connection between the present day indigenous Lagosians and Bini people.

3. Whatever be the case, let's be more forward-looking than backward-looking. Let's prioritize the future over the past. Let's find ways to build cities a thousand times better than Lagos instead of arguing about who owned Lagos. After all, even if the Binis were the first to settle there, they neither created nor purchased the land.

She's a pained bîtch cos of the tussle btw Akitoye & Dosunmu. Whichever ways, she mentioned logic. If she has sense, she ll know Aworis founded Lagos and Lagos is Yorubaland. Geographical proximity is enough reason to accept that.

Ipob/Igbos/biafran fabricated story sponsored on vanguard. Is it today fabrications and lies are reported and sponsored on daily papers? Tommorow now if you investigate further, it will end up being debunked. Is it because omokiri has proved beyond reasonable doubt that yorubas brought out Igbos from jungle to civilization in almost every aspect of humanity like education, religion, language development etc.?

Even oba of Benin that said it has forgotten about the issues, but some enbittered igbos kept on sponsoring fake articles in their usual known antics. Why not allow this matter to rest since it is too late to reverse the history to make Benin or Igbos to rule Lagos? So Igbos should let the matter rest because they carry the matter on their heads even more than the oba that said it

The battle for the soul of Lagos is real. The only viable state in Nigeria. cool

Aworis have always a been a foolish sub tribe of land grabbers, their history is full of contradictions talmbout one bloke who was wandering with his canaeo which led him to land which didn't belong to him.

They did not see Ijebu's who they would pay triburties that would give them protection rather they offered it to Benin folks let me not talk.

All these stories are trash. Nobody has denied Aworis were from Ife but the question is, when the Benin migrant came, were the natives not there?. I ask again, How did Yorubas chase benins away from Lagos?, why is Yoruba language and culture predominant in Lagos?, why are the Yoruba the land owners in Lagos?, why are they the ones selling land in Lagos?, How many benin have a family house in Lagos?. These are my questions i want benin people to answer, otherwise, everything na empty noise.
i am looking for the historical account of how Yoruba chased Benin out of Lagos, pls, anyone with the document shotld send me a link.

I Stan with you , even the name Oba is “Yoruba”
If Benin truly found Lagos you’ll still see traces of Benin legacies in Lagos, but that’s not the case . Just as British foot print will always be on it’s colonies . Even in America you’ll still see British foot print some of their Towns and street are British names .
Everybody wants to trend but it’s better to use your basic Analogy to dissect.

Given the controversy surrounding the ownship of lagos ...is clear some igbos were right ...lagos is indeed a land of migrants ...and as such is no man's land . One vital question I want a responsible yoruba person on this forum to answer me is ...why were all oba of yoruba buried in Benin city except one.? If indeed Benin people didn't not found lagos ..why were they not buried in awori or any other yoruba land. They more we dig this matter the more alot is being exposed ...it won't help the yorubas on future especially those who think lagos is there birth right

No one is even dragging Lagos with them, but the way they latch onto news online to attempt to rewrite history is a new low no one has attempted to correct about this generation of yoruba people. They call it liberalism as if the great Awolowo wasn't liberal enough. Strangers at that, and sometimes kids would be questioning people who are the custodians of the heritage they're laying claim to. Unbeknownst to them, they're paving way for the total capture of Lagos by actors that have sent them after imaginary enemies. Since Bini, didn't found it, Tinubu must own it. Very soon, they'll wipe the place of indigenous lagosians from their history.

So Bini now pass through Ore, Ijebu-Ode and Sagamu to claim land in far away land ?

Why is there no single heritage or houses that belongs to Bini in Lagos

Why is Ife empire spread from that Ife to all over Yoruba land and Bini the greatest empire that time couldn't conquer the Ore rather they only conquer Lagos 😂😀😀🤣

Only IPOB are getting carried away by this oral proclamation without any prove.

All in all, Yoruba are now the land sellers in Lagos and their is nothing any IPOB or Binin can do about.
Whatever story you have doesn't matter bcs even the Binin are using Oba as king and no Lagos Oba using anything that has to do with Edo kingdom.

For avoidance of doubt

Please check the map properly, one will see that when coming from Bini through the sea one will have to pass through Epe and Ibeju before getting to Lagos island and Eti-osa.

There is not a single land in Eti-osa that belongs to any Bini decendants.

So how on earth can you be the finding fathers of a place and those that came to meet you on your land now have more land than you?

How come you also speak their language not the other way round.

History has it that people who journed in a strange land often assimilate the language of their host, except the people coming in are the conquerors

So why is Lagos an exception.

Apapa the was under the control of the Oyo empire oh. See link below

Can you explain how Fulani people are speaking Hausa all over the North and have majority of Kings
