For avoidance of doubt

Please check the map properly, one will see that when coming from Bini through the sea one will have to pass through Epe and Ibeju before getting to Lagos island and Eti-osa.

There is not a single land in Eti-osa that belongs to any Bini decendants.

So how on earth can you be the finding fathers of a place and those that came to meet you on your land now have more land than you?

How come you also speak their language not the other way round.

History has it that people who journed in a strange land often assimilate the language of their host, except the people coming in are the conquerors

So why is Lagos an exception.

Apapa the was under the control of the Oyo empire oh. See link below

https://wappp.org/our_publications/nigeria-the-apapa-gridlock-challenges-and-solution/
before you guys claim these people are the founders of Lagos, now a direct descendant has come out to teach you kids history that the Benin kingdom founded Lagos , now you want to shift the goal post, guess you know more that a royal descendant of history, one thing I notice the people who dey carry this matter for head are mainly APC and tinubu urchins who aren't even from Lagos traditionally, yet they want to teach you a history of the land when they are migrants.

Is your brain fermenting, did you read the junks before bringing it here?. Did you read where she said Lagos is an extension of benin kingdom, it is a territory of benin?, so what horseshit are you smoking on?. Putting a word in parenthesis is mere pandering to nuances and is subjective. Benins migrated from edo, settled on a tiny island where they met the natives, yet claiming ownership. parasitic history.

Even an Omu aran (Jakande) man from faraway Kwara. What bonds the Yorubas are the language and culture.

Unfortunately for the Bini, the only thing Yoruba about them is that Oranmiyan founded their royal dynasty but they still kept on to their aboriginal Ogiamien tradition, language, and culture.

All these stories are trash. Nobody has denied Aworis were from Ife but the question is, when the Benin migrant came, were the natives not there?. I ask again, How did Yorubas chase benins away from Lagos?, why is Yoruba language and culture predominant in Lagos?, why are the Yoruba the land owners in Lagos?, why are they the ones selling land in Lagos?, How many benin have a family house in Lagos?. These are my questions i want benin people to answer, otherwise, everything na empty noise.
i am looking for the historical account of how Yoruba chased Benin out of Lagos, pls, anyone with the document shotld send me a link.
Read you said no, the Benin mainly used Lagos as a trading port, Lagos was an oversees territory for the Benin kingdom. Funny how a kazeem from Kwara thinks he knows more of Lagos history than a direct descendant of the ruling royal family.

You don’t have a clue

moba Yorubas were settled in moba Lagos well before the 9th Century before Oduduwa whose Son Oranmiyan established the Benin Throne and kingdom was Born
They are currently classified with the Awori people but we're in Lagos many Centuries earlier

In the 10th Century when the first Owa Obokun of Ijesha fetched from the Lagos Sea Water to cure Oduduwa's blindness there were already moba Yorubas. In Lagos and he spent 2 months with them

The idol Worshippers Olokun diety was actually a moba King called Seniade that ruled from an Island off the coast of Lagos that has now been Submerged by the Sea.

Some of the moba migrated to Ijebuland and the moba built the UNESCO world heritage 9th Century Eredo Wall near Ijebu and their kingdom included many Islands off the Coast of Lagos

They have now been included with the Awori people but we're actually the Original Inhabitants of Lagos and were in Lagos Centuries before Oduduwa was Born

The Oore of Otun Ekiti migrated from moba in Lagos and is descended from the moba Kings including Seniade

moba is near Victoria Island and their Crown predates Oduduwa's own

Oba Eweka 1 of Benin and all consequent Obas of Benin were Yoruba.
The first king of Lagos was a Yoruba man from Benin who met the Aworis who were also Yorubas.

History cannot be twisted because you want to cheat the Ogiamien family who fortunately, has evidence with them.

Yoruba founded a part of Benin that uses Oba....Ogiamien of Benin..

https://www.google.com/amp/s/guardian.ng/features/ogiso-and-ogiamien-are-aborigine-binis-while-oba-of-benin-is-of-yoruba-descent-high-chief-esotericist-monday-wehere/amp

[b]High Chief Esotericist Monday Wehere, JP explained further: “What is today known as Benin Kingdom started as Igodomigodo nine centuries ago. It was founded by Ogiso Igodo and it existed for 300 years before King Orominyan of Ife invaded Benin. During that invasion, Orominyan fought without any success. Before then, Orominyan came to Benin with a strategy. He brought a large number of Yoruba men into Benin long before the proper expedition. These men went into relationships with our daughters who started having children for them. By the time Orominyan came to attack Benin in 11th Century, the number of the Yoruba-born children was high. In spite of this, however, he still failed in his attack.

When Orominyan was returning to Ile-Ife without achieving his aim, as one of the strategies they invented, he deliberately impregnated a princess, the daughter of an “Enigie” – duke or king in Benin under the then Ogiso. The princess’ name was Elimide. He left her behind before returning to Ife. It was Princess Elimide that gave birth to the first Oba of Benin, Oba Eweka 1, who, after becoming an adult, was invited back to Ile-Ife, alongside other children they had secretly produced through our daughters without our knowing their game-plan.

Up till today, they still live in a place called Yoruba Quarters in Benin City. It was at that Ile-Ife meeting, which had Eweka in attendance that these children were told the reasons they were given birth to in Benin, that it was Oba Orominyan’s desire to use them to overthrow the then Ogiso Erebo and his dynasty, which was then known as Igodomigodo. They were all made to swear to an oath never to betray Eweka, who was to become the Oba of Benin, if they eventually succeeded.

Expectedly, this particular war was protracted as many people died on both sides. The carnage was much. It was, however, difficult for the then Ogiso to use extra force, as he felt his grandchildren were being used in the war. He kept saying the children being used by the Oba to prosecute his war were children of Benin daughters, even though they were now supporting their father’s side to fight the Ogiso.

It was at this point a truce was called. As there were no victor and no vanquished, Ogiso Erebo was told there was no way this large number of children born by Benin women for Yoruba men could be repatriated, since they had already been integrated into the heart of Igodomigodo. He was told the only way to maintain peace was for him to divide Igodomigodo into two kingdoms. Let the oba take a part, while he would hold on to the other part.

Today the Bini decendants don't have land in Lagos island, it's the idejo Chiefs like Oniru, Ikate and Onikoyi chiefs that has 90% of land in Lagos island/ Eti. Osa.

Please dont mind these people they are just looking for trouble

Firstly, this article is old

Secondly, this woman is talking nonsense. She was just saying things without any reference to any historical documentation

Thirdly, the question is why and how did Bini get to Eko at that time...why eko....there was no port in Lagos at that time . The bini could not have travelled by the sea to Lagos because they dont understand the Sea and there is no historical data to support that they passed through any yoruba kingdom

Lastly, this woman herself is more of Ijesha in osun state than bini. The problem of people is that they dont have knowledge and they dont seek it. Magority are only intrested in entertainment.

The Dosumu are descendant of Oba Ologunkutere..who was a son of a female princess erelu and became King because there was no male prince from the departed King. So the male child of a daughter of a King was made a King contrary to the culture. Now who was the father of Ologunkutere, his father was a rich Ijesha man. If his father was an ijesha man then all the Kings from Ologunkutere till the present one are more of an Ijesha people than anywhere. Please check this up ...its well documented
