I am not defending anything. Learn to stay on topic. Anyone who is familiar with my posts knows I am not an advocate of japaing. I think it will harm those who leave in the long run. I am simply making a statement of fact. Without japa Naira would be N3000 to $1….or more!

Those who want to go and clean poo of old women should go. They are doing us that choose to remain a service because they send Naira home which helps the Naira. For the last 4 years diaspora remittances is the largest source of forex inflow into Nigeria.

There are no jobs for them in Nigeria anyway.

You are either ignorant or talking from a place of pain. Of the people you know abroad, how many are cleaning poop?

That said, there's dignity in labor. If they clean poop and enjoy a better standard of living then, let them be.

The usual double standards of the average Nigerian. Why send your son to Finland and tell people there is money in the land?

Did I lie?
Is there no money in this land?
Well my boy wants to go so why deny him that which his heart craves for?

How to stop Japa syndrome

1. Make the economy better

2. Make the process of Japa unimaginably difficult

I know our president will be considering number 2.

With the continuous depreciation of the Naira, passport taking forever to process etc, isn't it difficult already? Nonetheless, people will still move because they know at last they bear the brunt of this irresponsible government.

There is a reason why when you people go abroad to study, they ask you to take English proficiency exams. Speaking and understanding English are 2 different things.

Truth is, if govt wants to curtail Japa syndrome in the country, it's actually a simple thing to do.

Just by placing a 2yrs temporary ban of new passport issuance and renewal will do the magic and drastically reduce the Japa syndrome.

But the thing is the majority of those moving abroad are the youths who are in their military age. If there will ever be a revolution, they're the ones to make it possible.

The large population of youths facing economic hardship in this country is a time bomb and a threat to the kleptomaniac political elites. The politicians see it as a welcome development to allow them move abroad enmass to ease the tension at home and to prevent and any future mass revolt in the country.
You don't make a draconian law after Messing up the country. You can as well advocate a decree to ban foreign travels.

Solution is to find out why people prefer to sell all their belongs and run away from the country

Your point is what exactly?

That you have zero understanding of Nigeria's current situation. This mindset isn't just silly it is dangerous. A massive flight of professionals is a serious sign that faith in Nigeria has been lost by its most important demographics.

This is the problem with Nigerians. You tell them the house is on the left they start arguing about how the man who owns the house killed his wife. Is that what I said or my business? Learn to stay on topic.

I said japa is our largest source of forex, so if you want to japa feel free and whatever you see you see.
I don’t know why you are arguing over the state of the country as if we do t know, or as if anyone is disagreeing with you that there are no jobs. Did I not say in the post there are no jobs in the country.

why not our president consider your number 1 option, because making japa more difficult without improving the economy, is like requesting for an implosion that could lead to a national crisis or even a violent revolution, that the government may not be able to handle.
