This is one of the most brilliant pieces I have read here on Nairaland and I'm surprised it didn't generate much attention from Nairalanders.

Everything you wrote here is nothing but the truth. As someone who's still trying to recover from the damages done to my body by masturbation over the years, I can relate to everything you stated.

My question is; when you say stop doing everything you love doing, do you mean strictly sex related activities or everything generally. For instance as a person that likes playing videogames, do I also need to give it up.

Thanks for the clearer explanation bro. I'm actually dealing with a severe ED and PE and I hope I see some changes after rebooting and rewiring my brain 🧠🧠

If you hate early morning exercise, START DOING IT

if you LOVE EARLY MORNING EXERCISE, THEN STOP DOING IT Because it falls under the things you love and you have to stop doing the things you love for a while

Pick 6-7 CORE things you love doing, write them on a piece of paper...then pick 6-7 CORE things you hate doing...write them on a piece of paper also

To rewire the brain reward system, START DOING THAT 6-7 THINGS YOU HATE DOING AND STOPPPP DOING THAT 6-7 THINGS YOU LOVE DOING for 30 days!!


and you gotta be truthful to yourself. That's key. One can only lie to me but one can never lie to himself or herself

Imagine someone that hate eating beans now decided to start eating beans after following my advice here.

But the person then decide to mix the beans with rice, a food that he or she loves because the beans doesn't taste good alone to him or her.

Such a person IS JUST DECEIVING HIMSELF IR HERSELF because the advice I gave is to DO THE THINGS YOU HATE DOING. not beating around the bush

--- If one hate bathing cold water, then start
--- If one hate reading romantic novels, then start
--- If you hate using dabur herbal toothpaste, then start using it

--- if you hate using a particular brand of bathing soap, then start using it

--- if you hate eating aloe vera because of the taste, then start eating it 7 times every day. It's medicinal....just that the taste is awful and IT FALLS UNDER WHAT YOU HATE: eating bitter things!





The advice most people get from their psychologist and therapist is "stop watching porn for 30 days and blah blah blah"

But the question is if it were that easy, would an addict be looking for help to end his or her addictionhuh

An addict would just wake up and stop his or her addiction right?
But that's not what happens, is it?? shocked

from day zero to day 30, to deal with the withdrawal symptoms that occur when ending an addiction, THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT THIS POST ADDRESSES IN DETAILS

You seem to be a writer as the evaluation you made focused more on typography (designs, layout and structure)

It was a brilliant read for me though and I didn't bait an eyelid till the end.

This is actually the clearest writeup on addiction pattern recognition and how to counter the pleasure-reward circuit you create when getting hooked.

The bad thing about addictions is that it gives you the same satisfaction (via dopamine rush) you'd have gotten at the end of working to achieve your goals without any equivalent exchange.

It's like short-circuiting the system. At the end of the day, you'll burn out your entire circuit and be stuck with a free flowing naked energy put to no use
