the OP gave an adverse conclusion of the subject matter
You dont have to stress yourself, you can see how they are crawling out of their holes to feast on the thread but if it was an article praising Tinubu you will how they will condemn such article. They commend bad report while they condemn good report.

Bloomberg, a US-based media organisation, on Friday, predicted that the naira will decline further in 2024.

A very good prediction for Nigeria but when will BLOOMBERG predict the time all stolen funds stashed in western countries will be returned to nigeria and africa in general.

The true Omo ale are those who voted for this mess.
The problem with Nigeria is manmade. It's a problem of leadership.
Those who voted for Buhari are the primary cause of this and those who went ahead to vote the incumbent have continued in that line.
Those rejoicing are not the problem. It started with those who voted wrongly.

Can only happen if Dangote refinery fails to come on before March 2024.

People holding USD will be shocked next year once this refinery comes on.

USD is heavily over priced and should be going down to between 800 & 900.

I hope we will also accept positive reports from Bloomberg too?

In any case, I have scrutinised the article and reject its conclusions. The projection of a weak naira is based on a projected inability to attract fresh foreign investment due to inflation.

This will mean a lower or stable inflow of fx.

However, this does not take into account the projected boost in oil exports and elimination of oil imports with the revival of local refining.
I will align myself with JP Morgan's, Moody's, and Bismark Rewane's projection of a strengthened naira in 2024.

Interestingly, Bloomberg has not gotten a single prediction on Nigeria correct - at least, not in the past 12 months.

They never get anything correct with Nigeria!

Always predicting rubbish.

I believe there's a coordinated attempt to instill fear in the minds of Nigeria concerning 2024.
I read Dr Sobowale column in the Vanguard online edition today and I was really bemused and flabbergasted, his doom day prophecy concerning 2024 is worse than what Isreal faced in the bible during the famine and drought of Prophet Elijah.
He predicted food scarcity, currency scarcity, fuel scarcity, forex scarcity and concluded 2024 will be very difficult year for Nigerians.
Bloomberg has decided to follow the same pattern as the Dr of Doom by predicting the Nigerian currency will perform terribly in 2024 meaning expect more devaluation of the currency next year.
I beg to disagree with all these Messages of Doom being released by these so called experts, even when Baba Buhari with his Buharinomics was using 98% of our earnings to pay off foreign debt, the Naira didn't collapse.
These experts all have something in common, they always try to downplay the significant impact the Dangote Refinery and the port Harcourt refinery will have on the economy of Nigeria.
In the report by Bloomberg, they alluded that things will get better if Nigeria is able to produce more crude oil,I daresay Nigeria is already producing more, with local refining expected to Increase significantly in 2024, Nigeria will definitely produce more.
2024 is the year my country will turn a corner for good, like Dr Rewane said, revenues have increased by 200%,the states and local government have more money to work with.
I can testify to this because my mother's pension in Lagos state was increased by 105% in the month of December.
Naysayers should keep their message of Doom cos things are about to get better in Nigeria.
God bless Nigeria.
the foolish thing abt you tinubu yoruba supporters is that you want everyone to be singing tinubu praise and saying all is well propaganda

The question is how does all these stop tinubu from working and proving people wrong if he has anything to offer

You people and your double face would leave tinubu failure and start looking for wind to blame

Tinubu have not gotten half the deliberate sabotage that he gave gej when he ganged full regions against him yet gej faired more than him and buhari

So it's Bloomberg that's now your problem abi

It's actually not surprising to me. If you check my comments in the past, I wrote Naira is headed to NGN2500 to $1 before the end of 2024 and between NGN3000 and NGN4000 before the end of 4years or the end of Tinubu's first tenure depending on which comes first.

However my worry is, what will happen within the government before then. I mean, what type of government are we gonna have by then, civilian or civilian by martial law or military. The indices point to a VERY chaotic years ahead!

You are entitled to your opinion...but you are not entitled to your own facts.

You say the Naira didn't collapse during the Buhari years...even though you claim his administration was spending 98% of revenue on foreign debt servicing. Are such debt service ratios the norm? undecided Are they sustainable? Most important - you should inquire exactly what it is that makes currencies fall. Is a high debt service ratio one of them? If your debt service ratios are significantly higher than the norm - is it only a question of time before your currency collapses? These are the questions you should ask.

Faiththatworks:
These experts all have something in common, they always try to downplay the significant impact the Dangote Refinery and the port Harcourt refinery will have on the economy of Nigeria.

It would be wise to hold on until the refineries actually start refining.

Till then.

OK. Revenues have increased. But what can your money actually buy - with double digit rates of inflation rising even higher as we speak?

Increased government revenues without public sector reform is fool's gold. Almost a quarter of a century after the return to civil rule - and your local governments (the tier of government closest to voters) are still slaves to state governments because of a criminal, so called joint account "arrangement". undecided How can your communities develop in these circumstances? And even if local governments gain their financial freedom today, how strong are your institutions to prevent your local government chairman from replacing your state governor as the face of corruption? I repeat: increased government revenues without public sector reform is fool's gold...those increased revenues will disappear into several black holes and white elephants...and you will be worse off than you were in the beginning.

Faiththatworks:
Naysayers should keep their message of Doom cos things are about to get better in Nigeria.
