Gov Sanwo-Olu ordered a soldier to be arrested and locked up for riding bike on “one-way” lane Meanwhile, the same Sanwo-Olu was caught driving on “one-way” lane with his long convoy.

This is the life of the average politician in Nigeria. They make rules then use them to oppress the POOR or common Nigerian.

This, in any way, doesn’t exonerate the soldier. He should be made to face the penalty of his unlawful act

Stop exposing your foolishness by justifying rubbish, when was the governor seen using one way, which month, which year, by who?
Ordinary, irrespective of the traffic, his security apparatus will always make way for the governor to move freely. So, why does he need to follow one way?

The most ignorant and uneducated person of the century goes to you.

So you don't understand what "one-way" means?

Okay, let me explain to you?...

"One-way" means the drive is just one direction... a person can be arrest if driving against the proper direction in a one-way/one -direction lane.

So Sanwoolu is drive in the right direction of the one-way road. He arrested the bikes cos they were driving against traffic/direction in a one way road... which usually cos accidents.

So, Sanwoolu drove on the right direction.

The military officer who spoke against the democractically elected governor is himself reckless and not disciplined . He has so many channels to vent his anger and advise the governor of Lagos State but not to be abusing the governor in the open public . I believe he is a fake officer as Nigeria is not a Banana Republic !!!

Sanwo Olu is the chief security officer in Lagos state.Anything the threatens the peace and security of lagosians must be nipped in the bud,any security force that reside within the territory of Lagos state is under the governor.

The governor has the right to detain him or outrightly send him out of the state, if his activities is inimical to the peace and security of the state, that is one of his constitutional duties
Please read your constitution, sanwo olu don't have such power. No armed Force is under sanwo olu, that power only resides with the president, all armed Force are federal apparatus, and not under the governor because their orders still comes from the federal, unless the one directly assigned to the governor eg sanwo olu can't go to any barracks in Lagos and give any direct order, but he can give an order to the DSS or police officers assigned to him, a soldier can't even be assigned to a civilian like sanwo olu.

And sanwo olu can't send any armed Force out of the state, he can only write his or her command for him or her to be redeployed.

Where were you and that governor when ENDSARs shutdown lagos, the soldier violated law, let law deal with him not by abusing him,

where in ur constitution that say ur governor get right to abuse or insult anybody that violate law?

I believe the governor was dawn lucky, if na ruthless soldier he would have pass the insult back to the governor let see the worst the governor can do.

The whole thing bring out the kind of personality Lagos have as a governor.

Righthussle:
This Officer should shut his dirty useless soldier mouth there. How can he open his dirty ogogoro drinking mouth to call a governor "dirty bloody civilian" ? Wetin dey give you mind? Because you have WAEC and carry AK47 ?

What makes these fools think it's ok for soldiers to abuse civilians but it's not ok for civilians to abuse soldiers ?

We will respect and appreciate them only when they are taught to behave like real soldiers with respect for civilians.

I am not interested in what transpired between the governor and the soldier. I am only imagining this stupid old soldier who called civilians "dirty bloody civilians " I believe you're a soldier, talk to your people. Being a soldier doesn't mean you have the freedom to abuse civilians as you like. Soldiers cannot survive without farmers, traders, builders etc. We all need each other

If you mean the alleged soldier in the video? That's someone wearing a camouflage and a beret that looks more like an African peace keeping mission beret used by the Nigerian contingent (Police and Army) sent to Somalia some 10 years ago.

Even Fulani herdsmen and Fulani terrorists have access to camouflaged clothes.

Nigeria soldier are as useless as p in psychology, very arrogant and stupid, very bragadocious, if he knows he's bold enough let him go and confront the governor at the govt house. Common bandit they can't face, but if is innocent, harmless civilian, they will begin to open eyes like mature frog.

soldiers in Nigeria often forget that they are employees of the country and can not be bigger than the country by been above the law, that's exactly the reason why Nigeria n most African countries are so lawless and backwards, the military or law enforcement agents all over the world are to be respected n honored for getting into harm's way to serve their countries but not to be lawless,in fact they should be the epitome of examplary conduct n descipline at all times so that they would continue to have the moral authority n justification to act decisively with anyone when the need arises ,but our soldiers are so lawless n yet wants to be respected, tuhah I spit for them.

It's not d job of a governor to arrest traffic offender. Moreover, d soldier was arrested close to army barrack. What of if he was carrying an emergency report? Some situation warrant you to break d law cos laws are made for d benefit of man.

So if there is an explosion or terrorist attack, you will be following traffic rules and get your ass killed.

The governor acted as a tout. He could have temporary detained d soldier and hand him over to Military Police.

How there you bundle a Nigeria soldier into a vehicle and call him useless.

A lazy opportunist corrupt civilian for that matter!

You are the one that needs to check or watch the video again. Sanwolu was on the right lane. These bikers are just doing what they like, and most of them are police and soldiers.
Soldiers are well discpline and they behave better abroad, they will never molest civilians nor break the law
Re: One Way: Soldiers Rant, Fault Arrest Of Errant Colleague by themanderon: 3:45pm On Jan 08
See a soldier calling the civilians he is meant to protect bastard civilians. This shows the orientation of our soldiers needs to change. Does he know those civilians pay his salary? So because he is a soldier he can break the law in any state he finds himself in?
Once you are out of your barracks you are under civilian control. You will only be under your army commander while in your barracks. That is how it should be in a sane society.
