Tunnel is not the same as canal. The canal is a massive one ... not a drainage canal as you may want to believe. It will cost Israel billions to make a detour and ships will take longer to get through the canal. Gaza is in the path of the canal. First the website you showed couldn't prove that the war had anything to do with the canal. Also, as I stated earlier, it would be cheaper to move the canal by 40 miles than fighting a very expensive war.
Here are some stats for you.
The approximate cost of the canal is $100 billion dollars while the war would gulp 50 billion this year alone.
It's much cheaper to move the canal by 40 miles than spending 100 billion on the canal and an additional 50 billion on war.
Plus the war will end up costing much more than that.
What about the cost of life, the reduction in productivity. The cost in terms of tourism. It makes zero sense
