…Suspended Minister indicts President’s aide

President Bola Tinubu has ruled out the possibility of reinstating Dr Betta Edu as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation.

The President suspended Edu from office on January 8 for her alleged involvement in financial scandal running into billions of Naira belonging to the ministry.

Edu was found to have illegally approved payment of hundreds of millions of Naira to some private companies and civil servants in contravention of extant rules.

One of the payments was the N585 million paid into the United Bank for Africa (UBA) account of a project accountant in the Humanitarian Affairs Ministry. A company belonging to the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo was also reported to have received N438 million payment for unverifiable contract.

The suspended Minister is currently being investigated by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) while Tunji-Ojo is being investigated by the Independent Corrupt Practices and other related offences Commission (ICPC).

However, some prominent chieftains of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) are reported to be mounting pressure on the President to give Edu a soft landing.

It was gathered on Sunday that the party leaders hinged their pleas on the fact that Edu, in her previous position as National Woman Leader of the APC, played a key role in mobilising support for Tinubu’s election during the last electioneering.

They reminded the President that it was in recognition of her contribution to the victory of the APC in the last presidential election that earned her the ministerial appointment in the first place.

A top party source privy to the rapprochement moves, told our correspondent on Sunday, that party leaders were however not unmindful of the effects of the Edu scandal on the image of the APC at the national level.

The source, who did not want his name in print, said, “It was a difficult task trying to convince President Tinubu to give Edu a soft landing despite the fact that she payed a prominent role during the residential campaign.

“Edu wept profusely when some of our leaders managed to prevail on the President to grant her audience a few days ago. But the president was not moved one bit.

“President Tinubu did not mince words in telling her and the party leaders pleading on her behalf that she should forget about reinstatement. However, the President left everyone guessing regarding her ongoing investigation by the EFCC”.

Another source confirmed to our correspondent that Edu named one of the President’s top aides as her enabler. The said aide is known to be one of the President’s long standing political associates.

Tinubu was said to have been taken aback by the revelation of the aide’s deep involvement in Edu’s reckless looting of public treasury and the effects on the administration’s anti corruption campaign.

A source in the Presidency said the President has tactically stripped the top aide of his official functions and has delegated the responsibilities of his office to two other officials in the Presidency.

Other multiple sources said the President had placed the influential aide on security watch shortly before he travelled to France last week on a private visit.

It was reliably gathered that Tinubu’s initial plan was to send the errant aide packing, but that on a second thought, he felt it was rather too early to kick out such a prominent aide barely seven months into his administration.

“President Tinubu was scandalised by the involvement of his close associate in the huge financial scandal perpetrated by Betta Edu. He felt disappointed that one of those he trusted to drive his administration’s anti corruption campaign has turned out to join the corruption bandwagon so early in the life of the administration.

“I am not in a position to answer your question as to whether or not the President is going to fire him anytime soon because I cannot read his mind. That is strictly left to him since he alone has the prerogative to hire and fire”, one of the sources said.

There have been a deluge of corruption allegations involving other top officials of the administration. The Minister of Works, Dave Umahi is presently in the eye of the storm over alleged payment of some N9 billion to a Microfinance bank for unspecified project.

Also, the Chief of Naval Staff, Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, is contending with allegations of receiving $170 million in bribes and releasing several vessels seized for illegal oil bunkering and oil thieves.

Although both the Works Minister and the Naval Chief have come out to defend their positions through their establishments the allegations have continued to gain traction in the public space.

Oyedepo's prayer nko?

She said Oyedepo's prayer made her appointment happen. Whose prayer suspended her?

Things like her appointment are determined by human efforts, not by prayer. If you pray without efforts, it won't happen. If you make the appropriate efforts without prayer, it will happen. This is why many who pray fail while many who do not pray succeed. Prayer is very necessary and effective, but it's function is not for economic or political success. The function of prayer is to connect or reconcile you with God, save you from the enemies you can't identify (not from identified enemies), and position you for salvation on the last day.

The point is that her appointment was because of her connections or works with politicians, not because of Oyedepo's prayer. Just as her works or connection with politicians led to her suspension now. But she wrongly or hypocritically said Oyedepo's prayer is responsible for the appointment. Edu was a health commissioner and the president of Nigerian health commissioners forum. Edu resigned from the position. Resigned, not suspended. And Oyedepo's prayer is not credited for her appointment as a commissioner. So, Edu clearly used works and connections to climb to the position of a minister. So, if Oyedepo's prayer is responsible for Edu's ministerial appointment, whose prayer suspended her?

This is how they prone Christianity to mockery. When they fraudulently get rich, they call it grace during their testimonies in Church. When the fraud leaks, the Church where the testimony happened will be mocked. Those who tapped into her grace during her testimony will be uncomfortable now. But when she credited the appointment to Oyedepo's prayer, you people didn't see the error because you are narrow-minded. You lose your common sense because of your religious fanaticism. You believe any claim linked to a man of God or to God's name is true. Those of us who properly analyzed her words were tagged antichrists and bitter souls. This is also how you usually say that every leader is appointed by God. It is like saying every criminal is appointed by God.

God does not abandon what he started in the manner Edu ended. He didn't abandon Israelites. He may delay the progression but does not reverse the movement. He delayed Israelites on the way but didn't take them back to Egypt.

God knew the Israelites would misbehave on their way out of Egypt. But he started the journey for them and didn't reverse it. God will not appoint Betta Edu to later suspend her when he knows she will err in less than a year. God is not an author of confusion. Therefore, the appointment was not by Oyedepo's prayer.

ADDED:
Many have quoted me and likened Edu's case to that of Saul in the Bible. But Edu's case is totally different from that of Saul.

1.
Saul didn't hold any leadership position before becoming the king of Israel. Edu was a health commissioner and the president of Nigerian health commissioners forum. Edu resigned from the position. Resigned, not suspended. And Oyedepo's prayer is not credited for this. So, Edu clearly used works and connections to climb to the position of a minister.

2.
Samuel's prayer is not what made Saul a king. God already selected Saul. Neither Edu nor Oyedepo said God selected Edu before Oyedepo's prayer. The purpose of Samuel's prayer was clear before Saul became the king. It was after Edu's appointment that Edu herself claimed a prayer purposely took place for the appointment.

3.
God does not start something and abandons it halfway. God specifically told Samuel the task Saul would accomplish for Israel and the bad things Saul would do. The task was to save Israel from the Philistines. Saul accomplished the task. Saul also brought pain on Israel. Which task did God tell Oyedepo Edu would accomplish for Nigeria and what are the bad things God told Oyedepo Edu would do? Also, did Edu accomplish the task? Answer these questions or admit the cases are not the same.

4.
It was Israel's decision to have a king. God became angry that Israel wanted a human king. Through Samuel, God made his anger known to Israel and also informed Israel that the human king would be a bad one. Israel stubbornly accepted to have the king. Did Nigeria ask for a minister of humanitarian and did it anger God and did God warn that Edu will be a bad minister but Nigeria insisted on having Edu? The answer is no.

5.
God used Samuel to announce Saul. God used the same Samuel to address Israel and Saul when Saul disobeyed God. Was Edu appointed or announced by Oyedepo and suspended by Oyedepo? Was Edu's alleged misconduct pointed out by Oyedepo? The answer is no. God used the same Samuel to anoint David as Saul's successor. Oyedepo will likely not be the one to appoint or pray for Edu's successor because Oyedepo didn't appoint or pray for Edu's predecessors.

Make una stop to dey misinterpret the Bible.

Successful People have two things on their lips, "SMILE & SILENCE". Smile can solve problem while Silence can avoid problems. Sugar and Salt may be mixed together but ants reject the Salt and carry away only the Sugar. Select the right people in life and make your life better and sweeter. If you fail to achieve your dreams, change your ways not your God. Remember, trees change their leaves and not their roots. You will never reach your destination if you stop and throw stones to every dog that barks.

Haters will see you walking on water and say it is because you can't swim. Even if you dance on water, your enemies will accuse you of raising dust.

Make it your ambition to live a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your own hands.

Remember, don’t ever wrestle with a Pig. You’ll both get dirty, but the Pig will enjoy it......but YOU? What is your lot?
Have a great & blessed day.

Did anyone say God has abandoned her?
She erred and the presidency ain't a place for such errors.
This is not any abandoning, this is simply for her to repent and amend her ways and be careful in her next line of duty.

When you see these people going to church and mosque to ask God for the opportunity to serve their country, you think they have good intentions.

Believe it or not, Nigerians don't like this country; this is a country full of hypocritical, opportunistic and dubious people.

This decision is giving. He made a mistake by appointing a corrupt personality and a better decision by clearly letting other corrupt personnel she will not be reinstated. A right decision at the right time.

Then God should not have created Adam and Eve knowing they would fall for satan,by what you claim.

The scriptures say that life and death dey ur hand o, bt then admonishes us to choose life.

Every one who sin is punished, the isrealite u mentioned early were heavily punished, all through scripture all men who did wrong were punished, even the man after God's heart got his punishment.

God hasn't left her, he never leaves anyone.
The one who breaks an edge the serpent will bite.
