Nigeria’s vice president, Professor Yemi Osinbajo has revealed that the President Muhammadu Buhari administration pays N5,000 monthly to over 300,000 of the poorest families across the country, totalling up to N1.5 billion. Osinbajo stated this in Umuahia, the Abia state capital, at the launch of the Abia state Tele-Health support centre. He added that that the federal government was giving loans to over 300,000 traders and artisans and feeding 125,624 pupils in 742 schools. “We have 1,569 cooks in total; for micro-credit loans under our GEEP scheme, we have given loans to 7,585 small businesses,” he said adding that the government had so far invested about N2.4billion of the social investment programmes’ funds in Abia state. “And specifically in healthcare, we have the Saving One Million Lives Initiative, which has made available $1.5million to each state government – including Abia state – to improve the quality of basic healthcare available especially to our women and children. “Health insurance is the most effective way of ensuring access to healthcare when needed and at the same time funding our healthcare system, and ensuring that healthcare personnel are well rewarded. “This commitment has meant two things. First is President Buhari’s determination to break from the past where the federal government only supported states where the party in office was their own. “At the inauguration of the NEC in 2015, he publicly declared that our own NEC will assist every state because poverty in our nation is no respecter of ethnic group, religion or party affiliation. “Consequently, as of today the federal government has supported states without discrimination along party lines to the tune of N1.91trillion. “The second is that the federal government has prioritized social and economic policies and programmes that will bring the greatest benefit to the greatest number of our people. “We have examples of these in our social investment programmes. Today, we are feeding 7.5million children in our home-grown school feeding programme in 22 states. “We have employed 200,000 graduates in our N-Power scheme, 300,000 more are waiting to be formally engaged. Every single local government in Nigeria is covered,” Osinbajo added. According to him, the creation of the Abia state Tele-Health support centre would reduce the time spent travelling in search of healthcare, or waiting in line to see a doctor in healthcare facilities and close the access-to-healthcare gap between urban and rural areas. “It will also make Abia state standout, within and outside Nigeria, as a forward-looking, people-centred state; one that is open to new ideas and to life-changing innovation,” he said. http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/04/federal-government-paying-n15bn-to.html

Ayade, who had asked that the budget be committed to God, broke down in tears as prayer was being said by Rev. Fr Bob Etta, the Special Adviser on Religious Matters. Signing the budget tagged, ‘Budget of kinetic Crystallisation,’ Ayade stressed that, “Cross River State must create a new vista, prospect, horizon and income pattern that will define us by what we are and not what the world sees us to be,” pointing out that, “we must put an end to the civil service status of Cross River and we can only achieve this when we think out of the box.” Amid sobs and tears, Ayade said that in budgeting such amount, his administration was driven by a conscious determination anchored on a very clear ambition, with timelines and clear performance indicators that measure for the people what they expect in order to change their story. Ayade also said, “In the 21st century you don’t look before you leap, you leap before you look. Great men all over the world are being driven by visions and any man who sees with his eyes, his vision would be impaired by mountains, bridges, houses and trees. A great visioner who sees with his mind and soul is not impaired by any obstruction neither can money be an impediment. “It is very clear that there will be conflicts between expectations and what we will get, but we will be driven by we-can-do it spirit while decoupling ourselves from the continuous dependence on federal allocation.” Ayade further maintained that the state was in “need of a stabilising factor, a budget of this nature to be able to cushion the impact of the internal crisis that do arise, particularly at a time we are setting an agenda for a new prosperity that will change our story.” According to him, within 35 months, his administration has completed and secured the entire approvals for the superhighway project, completed detailed design of the deep seaport project, achieved the EIA approvals for both the deep seaport and superhighway, commenced the dualization of the Calabar- Odukpani dual carriageway, as well as commenced massive preconstruction works including land acquisition/clearing and massive dredging at the deep seaport. He highlighted other projects executed within the short period including tbe completion of the garment factory and pharmaceutical company with the later awaiting commissioning, completed Rice City with the commencement of installation works, completion of earthworks on the 148km dual carriageway in the northern senatorial district, the agro industrial park, the rice mill in Ogoja and the cocoa processing plant in Ikom, with the equipment for the plant paid for and awaiting delivery. Ayade therefore, enjoined Cross Riverians to “be united by these common aspirations that these projects which will indeed kinetically crystallise all our ambitions when we all put our hands on the table,” adding that, “as part of the philosophy of this budget, we focus on human capital development to put food on the table which was part of the agenda we did in year one and two, to say here we come with a new agenda, food on the table, hands on the plough.” Speaking earlier, Speaker of the state House of Assembly, John Gaul Lebo assured that the House of Assembly will perform its oversight functions to ensure that the budget is crystallized for the benefit of democracy in the state. http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/04/ayade-breaks-down-in-tears-as-he-signs.html

The Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi, has revealed how much he earns monthly under Buhari’s administration. Amaechi speaking at the presentation of a book titled, ‘Dignity in Service,’ authored by the late Dr. Matthew Mbu, a former Minister of Foreign Affairs said he earns “only N950,000” a month, out of which he also pays his aides. While extolling the virtues of the late Mbu, Amaechi promised to promote transparency. He said, “A minister earns only N950, 000 a month. Out of this money, N350, 000 is for accommodation, so there is no more money given to you. The remaining N600, 000 includes payment for your staff, personal assistants and all that. “Nigerians like going to parties. That is one benefit of this government. We now assess our wealth and value money. Before, once you get money from the illegal means, we hold parties. There are very few parties these days because there is no more money to hold such parties. “There are no ‘owambe’ anymore because there is very little money to hold ‘owambe.’ The reason is that the ‘owambe’ money used to come from the government and there is no money in the government to do such.” http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/04/amaechi-reveals-his-salary-as-minister.html

A former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mathew Mbu, has made a new exposition into the Nigeria Civil War. The former Minister said United States of America and other world powers were planning to change the history of the war by eventually backing Biafra. Mbu said had the civil war lasted longer, America would have intervened and come on Biafra’s aide. According to him, the World Powers had great sympathy for Biafra but preferred the option of exploring a more flexible federation for Nigeria. He said this in an autobiography the he left behind to be published by his family. The book entitled “Dignity in Service,” is due for public presentation on Tuesday next week at the Yar’Adua International Conference Centre, Abuja. He wrote, “The regions should have a little bit of autonomy; that was the issue throughout those 30 terrible months of the civil war. “The first Biafran cabinet meeting was held and articulated in Enugu by our head of government, Col. Ojukwu, and after subsequent meetings in Umuahia and Owerri, he summoned leaders of thought and took a resolution. “The United States and other major powers had great sympathy for Biafra. “One fear that haunted other African nations was that if Biafra breaks they would also break up. “Their enormous sympathy for Biafra notwithstanding, they preferred the option of exploring a more flexible federation for Nigeria. “Had the war lasted longer, there would have been a major intervention that would have changed the history of the civil war by the major powers. It was good it ended when it did. “The suffering as being portrayed outside, the suffering of children on humanitarian ground was too compelling to ignore.” http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/04/civil-war-how-us-other-world-powers.html

Cheating is far from the only mistake that can ruin a marriage.Below are 5 other risky relationship behaviors that can be just as costly 1. Watching of Porn: Many times when a husband is excessively using porn, this is potentially a sign of other trouble. 2. Being on Your Phones Constantly: When a man or a woman or both often end up on their phones, in front of computers, or in different rooms watching different shows, this tells me they don’t feel connected, they are escaping from each other. 3. Being Married to Your Job: The obvious thought here is often that your partner is having an affair and is covering it up by saying he’s ‘working late.’ While this is one possibility, there are other very different reasons why your partner may be working long hours 4. Drinking: If your husband goes out ‘drinking with the boys’ regularly and comes home after midnight intoxicated—especially if you can’t always reach him—your relationship may be in trouble 5. Hiding Money Issues: Hiding financial issues is a common problem I see with couples. While it can be embarrassing to admit that you’ve been laid off or are gambling away your bonuses, it’s important to keep your partner privy to your finances because this is an issue that affects you both equally as a couple. http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/04/5-major-mistakes-that-is-destroying.html

The Chairman of PFN in Oyo State, Bishop Taiwo Adelakun assured the present administration of support through fervent prayers. The Senate has reacted to President Muhammadu Buhari’s approval of $1 billion for the procurement of arms. President Buhari had on Wednesday approved the release of $1 billion for the procurement of security equipment to be used in the fight against Boko Haram. terrorists But the lawmakers had taken a swipe at the presidency, saying the sum could not be released without its approval. The senate said the powers to approve such money does not belong to the President. Vice Chairman, Senate Committee on Media and Publicity, Senator Ben Murray- Bruce, PDP, Bayelsa East told Vanguard that the presidency cannot spend such amount of money until the National Assembly approved it. Bruce said, “It has not been approved, it is simply the choice of words, the presidency or the executive cannot spend a single kobo on such a mission unless the National Assembly approves that. “It is only when the Senate or the National Assembly approves that, that the executive can go ahead to spend such money. “The executive can only recommend and not to approve.” http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/04/buhari-has-no-power-to-approve-1billion.html

Former President Goodluck Jonathan’s spokesperson, Ima Niboro has opined that despite its challenges, the All Progressives Congress, APC, will win the 2019 elections by a “sizeable margin”. Addressing reporters in Warri, Delta State, Niboro said there was still time for the APC to resolve its grievances. The former Managing Director of the News Agency of Nigeria, NAN, who joined APC in 2016 said the party ”will pull off a major upset in Delta state” because the people were yearning for change. Niboro said with some “nimble engineering of the party’s bulkhead”, APC would sweep the polls in 2019. He said, “This was amply demonstrated in the last LGA elections. It was an eye-opener for the closed, almost dynastic system that has governed the state since 1999. “But for the shenanigans of the state-controlled DSIEC, APC would have scored a major upset in that election.” He called on the APC supporters in Delta to continue to keep faith with the party. The former Presidential aide said the APC remained the only viable alternative platform to effect change in Delta. http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/04/2019-jonathans-ex-aide-niboro-reveals.html

The Senator representing Kogi West, Dino Melaye has declared that the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, is moving towards failure in 2019 if it fails to resolve ongoing crisis. Speaking on BBC Hausa, Melaye alleged that members of the party, especially political office holders were sabotaging one another. “There are many crises in APC, let the truth be told. Everybody is sabotaging one another. Something should be done, otherwise, the funeral trumpet may be blown on APC. “I have to say the truth. There are problems in this party. Look at how senator Misau was taken to court, the Senate President, Bukola Saraki was also taken to court, then you said we should not tell the truth? “I am not afraid to tell the truth on anybody, whether on Buhari, Saraki, or even my father. I have to speak against injustice. APC and PDP patronize the same market,” he said. He further stated that his recall process was a handiwork of Kogi governor Yahaya Bello, stressing that he would only return to his constituency when his tenure expires on May 20, 2019. “Are you asking me about my recall process? I will only return to my constituency on May 20, 2019 because I enjoy massive love from my constituents. The matter is also at Supreme Court. “This is all a handiwork of Yahaya Bello, just because I advised him to pay salary arrears to Kogi State workers. You are all aware how his government, despite receiving two trenches of Paris Club refund fund, failed to pay salary for several months. “We can recall how a worker committed suicide for lack of salary. Hunger and poverty don’t know any political party. So, for telling him this, that is why he is witch-hunting me. “This man is not working in Kogi State. You cannot show even one Kilometre road constructed by his administration, and he said we should not tell the truth. I must tell the truth even if I would be killed”. http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/03/im-not-afraid-of-buhari-apc-nearing-its.html

The Senate on Tuesday resolved to mandate its committee on ethics and privileges to, within one week, investigate and find out if senators were indeed involved in a $50,000 bribery scandal. This resolution was sequel to a point of order raised by Peter Nwaboshi (PDP, Delta) in reaction to reports that members of the Senate as well as House of Representatives are collecting $50,000 and $30,000 respectively to sway their support in the current moves to amend the electoral act. According to Sun Newspaper, sources revealed that ”pro-Executive Senators and members of the House of Representatives” have been lined up to receive $50,000 and $30,000, respectively, while ”anti-executive lawmakers, who have cases with anti-corruption agencies, will be threatened with prosecution,” in days to come. The Sun also reported that some key members of the executive, who have been spearheading strategies for President Muhammadu Buhari’s re-election in 2019, were poised to stop the National Assembly from going ahead with plans to veto the president on the election re-ordering captured in the new the Electoral Act (amendment) Bill. To achieve this, sources said “$50,000 and $30,000 have been earmarked for each lawmaker in exchange for their support.” Coming under order 15, Mr Nwaboshi described the report as very unfortunate and called for immediate investigation into the matter. “Only yesterday, the social media and the newspapers were filled with claims that the senate of the federal republic of Nigeria and even the house of reps, are collecting $50,000 and $30,000 respectively. “This is very unfortunate. It impugns on my privileges as a senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. My constituents have been calling me; some of them have been asking me to bring their own money out of what I have collected and I know that I didn’t collect anything. “I know that many of you did not collect that money. Front page of Sun newspaper carries it, showing that monies are being shared and many meetings have been held. I want to move that this matter be investigated. He said investigation into the matter would show the transparency of the legislative process. “Some of us who have no hand, and who did not participate and who will never participate in such act, can be cleared and our constituents can be in a position to know that we did not participate in such a thing,” he said. Mao Ohabunwa (PDP, Abia), described the issue as ‘scandalous’ and declared that he has no knowledge about it. “I find this scandalous. And for a senate, the highest lawmaking body of any country to be so accused, I stand here to declare and say that I know nothing about this and I believe same for most of us, if not all of us. This issue must be thoroughly investigated to let the public know the integrity of this house. “We should mandate the committee on ethics, privileges and public petitions to find out which senators or those from the villa involved and bring them to book,” he said. The Senate President, Bukola Saraki, thereafter, urged the senators to “hold their comments until the end of the investigation.” http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/03/2019-election-sequence-senate-probes.html

Your beauty and simplicity permeates through your glowing smiles which expose your set of perfect teeth, leaving a dimple on both sides of your sensual cheeks. This sinks my heart a few more feet into my soul as I appreciate God who created the chest so my heart doesn’t fall literally at your feet. “I may not have the right words to interpret my emotions and for how madly in love I have become with you but I sure won’t be quiet about it none-the-less. The sparkle in your eyes makes me believe that your mother is a thief cos she stole the stars and put them in your eyes. “I could go on but time is what you don’t have to read a 1 million paged love letter so I will say from my heart and hope you feel it too. T-Boss, I love you.” He signed off with the drawing of a heart with an arrow piercing through the centre. http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/03/bassey-love-letter-to-tboss-in-bbnaija.html

Popular artistes Davido, Olamide and 9ice have all come under fire from the Nigerian Broadcasting Commission and seen their songs stricken from the airwaves. Olamide’s ‘Wo’, 9ice’s ‘Living Things’ and Davido’s ‘If’ remix were all banned. For Olamide, it is suspected that the depiction of smoking, was something that didn’t sit well with the NBC. Olamide responded to the ban, apologising for any harm caused. He tweeted; “No intentions of promoting tobacco to get people killed. I love my people, I love my country. One love, one Nigeria.” No specific reason was given for the ban, but the tweets of the Ministry of Health are an indicator as to why Olamide’s ‘Wo’ was banned. According to the Ministry of Health, the video for Olamide’s song contravenes the Tobacco Control Act of 2015 and that it is dangerous to kids who might be encouraged to smoke after seeing that. As for 9ice’s song, it is speculated that the seeming subject matter of the song might be unhealthy to young, aspiring Nigerians to hear. Recall that sometime last year, the song was slammed by Falz who said that the message of the song could easily be misinterpreted by listeners. 9ice has since defended the song saying that the song was in no way sung to harm anyone. http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/03/olamide-davido-9ice-songs-banned-from.html

Ladies please take note of the points below because they are very important if you don’t want to make mistake in your relationship. 1. Getting jealous even at the small things: Some women have the tendency to believe that every woman who their man talks to is probably having a romantic relationship with him. There are women out there who get jealous of the tiniest bit of interaction of their man with another woman. 2. Not considering your well-being: At the same time, these things do matter sometimes. If you stay in a form where it may appear that you do not take care of yourself, then there is a chance that the relationship will start to go to an unhealthy side. Women should avoid that because your partner would be happier and will cherish you more if you take care of both your physical as well as mental well-being. http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/03/2-mistakes-women-need-to-stop-making-if.html

Nigerian singer Davido who is one of the most controversial musicians in Nigerian has just landed on the wrong foot after trying to take a jibe at Cameroon. The singer was to host his 30 Billion Concert in Douala, Cameroon over the weekend but with his first approach towards Cameroon, the singer will not be given that loud ovation he has been receiving in other African countries. Davido issued that Cameroon as a country only boost of two popular individuals which he knows all others are mere citizens that are just occupying the country. Davido claims to only know Cameroon’s popular footballer Samuel Eto who played for Barcelona football club of Spain and their famous musician Rapper Stanley Enow which he has collaborated with in the past, aside this two there is no other person that he knows. He may have a fan base in Cameroon but when you take a jibe on a country then you are totally on your own (OYO). Cameroonians trooped online lavishing insults and taking the singer down for making such statement. A fan even reminded him of mentioning one of theirs Roger Miller in one of his song ‘Gobe’. With the comments and bashing made by Cameroonians it can be said to be a total beat up for the multiple award winning singer. Prior to visiting a nation to perform you have already spat fire how will the show be; won’t it be filled with hatred and bitterness? http://www.mcebisco.com.ng/2018/03/cameroonians-beats-up-davido-over-his.html
