I think we export to spain, china and portugal. Also that of Morocco and Europe is on the pipeline. Gaskiya for the flared gas i dont know. Serious investment is needed in that sector like I said earlier, we need investors to tap our gas potentials.

so in your wildest dreams, you think Nigeria that imports 60% of its cooking gas can supply cooking gas to a country with 1billion people?

do you guys even think through these things before you just type?

His words: “We are interacting with critical stakeholders to ensure that there is no exportation of LPG.

“All LPG produced within the country will have to be domesticated. And when this is done, the volume will increase and of course, the price will automatically crash.

“I am in contact with the regulation, NMDPRA, we hold meetings almost on daily basis, and the producers such as Mobil, Chevron, and Shell. So there is that hope that things will turn around. We don’t need to make noise about it.”

From the above statement, they are yet to even implement it.

What are they waiting for
...That is Nigeria Government for you. They will be on this issue, year 2024 will run to the end.

How does this help us?

You stop export to reduce price and then stop foreign exchange from coming in? Short term win long term loss?

Or what am I missing?

Ok, I guess you are happy to pay N15k for a 12.5kg cylinder?

LPG doesn't earn us much. Why not forgo it for 6-12months for prices to crash to say N7k, so that Nigerians have disposable income in their pockets, while we build additional gas capacity from the commercialization of gas flare sites and then LPG exports can resume.

But Buhari was wasting resources digging pipes into the ground to export the gas to his bros outside Nigeria. That Buhari laid Nigeria to waste because of his ethno-religious bigotry.
A man scheming for Islamic Republic of Nigeria governed with Sharia criminal laws; he was seeking for chaos in a country nearly equally divided between Muslims and Christians.

Yet you slllow Dangote export refined fuel
And you’re looking for forex?
You’re not ready to rule and clearly don’t know how to
The gas flared alone can cover local consumption
Work on efficient harnessing and allocation not ban ban ban
You clearly lack direction

Instead of increasing production.
The forex wey we no get enough Dem wan reduce the inflow.
You also see what's happening. I understand the reasoning behind this, but we're panicking and closing our few export channels. That will bite us too.

Fair point. If it works out like this. If they're even trying to make it work out like this.

what is the good governance that he should be interested in?

can you show us how this government has demonstrated this good governance?

if the government of the day did not engage in propaganda, noise making and bitter politics, would he see it to be interested in?

which countries has Nigeria been exporting cooking gas to?

Educate yourself on this question since you have access to internet.

Did you really just say the us has good public health ?, good security??, water ?

Johnjustice:
Very good policies, economic policies should be for the good of the people.

In UK or America, prices of basic things stay the same for years, because the government is working behind the scenes to make it happen, they have good public health financed by government, they have quality public transportation, they have good security, water etc...all these things are either done through subsidies, government partnership, government policy, welfare packages, public social services and infrastructure etc...hence it is wrong for IMF to ignore all these subsidies enjoyed by Americans and Brits and come to Nigerian government, and ask FG to remove all subsidies for the people.

Government is there because of the people, a nation is not a company, a nation is there to use public wealth, policy, and revenue to cater for the people, protect the people, provide public services, welfare services etc. It's all about the people, not the private companies, not IMF or the FG, governors etc.

While I dislike Tinubu, anything they can do to cushion the effects of their terrible policies will be well appreciated.
