This guy broke a record last year by defeating the PDP candidate to emerge as the Senator representing Edo Central. He is very popular and a grassroots man in Edo Central. If Oshiomole can mobilize for him in Edo north, he will win the election.
Guy he didn't win because he is popular, he won because of Obedient movement that divided PDP votes. Traditionally, Edo Central is PDP zone, nothing has change for now, mind you two weeks after he won senate seat, his party lost out in the House of Assembly election to PDP in his LGA.

This is a tactical move by the APC. Both Ighodalo and Okpebholo are from Esan (Edo central), but Okpebholo seems to be more grassrooted than Ighodalo. Will the Esans prefer Okpebholo, seeing that he's coming through APC or will they stick to Ighodalo who is from their preferred party, the PDP. Either way, I see Ighodalo as the next governor because the political odds will favour him considering how the game will pan out in the other two senatorial districts, and he being Obaseki's candidate. Let's watch and see how it plays out
Nobody want to vote a candidate from obaseki. Okpebholo is the next governor

Oshiomhole is just not destined to be a godfather.
He should just accept his fate and move on.
Twice he tried, twice he failed.
It is very difficult to play god father in edo state.

It was a wrong calculation.cgoosing from Edo south will make esan vote massively for PDP
U think so? Edo north votes will cancel that of central. South will edge it for home boy Idahosa. The guy is a puller. He defeated the great igbinedion in his federal constituency twice

I think he can reconcile with iyamu and denco can be the running mate if not PST iyamu will be the next party leader
some of you always over rate this pst Ize-iyamu too much. If not for political appointment has he ever won an election? A candidate who couldn't win his local government not to talk of his senatorial district is seen by you as a political heavyweight. Denise idahosa and oshomole holds the key to Opebholo victory if he is going to win. These are grass roots politicians that knows how to win elections not noise makers like pst Ize-iyamu who can't win his local government.

Edo central is irredeemably a PDP region since 1998....it's very difficult for other parties to win that region...the PDP seeds Anthony anenih planted in that region might never be uprooted

That changed during the last General Election when same Monday Okpebholo of APC won the Senatorial Seat of Edo Central. PDP held the seat since 1999 but Monday Okpebholo won the seat for the 1st time for APC last year.

Only Edo North reverence Oshiomhole, his dwindling political influence ends in Edo North.

Generally, only Anenih is accepted in Edo.... And that was many years ago.

So please stop overating POI. He is in the league of Kenneth Imasuagbon (The Rice Man)

Will Oshiomhole and his Edo north people back him considering the bad blood from the primary election?

The guy is popular in Edo Central though. He defeated PDP for the first time since 1999 to emerge as senator representing Edo Central. The Benin people of Edo South have no candidate in this election so their votes will be divided depending on the candidate of LP. If Oshiomole can deliver Edo North for him, he may win the election.

Oshiomole has no choice. President and Ganduje will talk to him. Shuaibu may likely work with APC

don't mind that armchair political analyst. Opebholo need to work with Denise idahosa and oshomole for him to succeed. Edo norh is locked down for oshomole come sun, come rain. Denise controls Ovia north and south, which have large voting populace, and work hard to get something from
his own Edo central, then he is good to go.

But oshomole should be calming down sometimes, he's an elder.

Even at age 200 Osho will still not be an elder because he talks too much and such is never fit to be regarded as elder.

Now the Truth is Edo central must have it this time not minding the oshiomhole factor. Know this and know peace
