It is the politics of some foreign countries that destroyed Nigerian Airways, remember, Nigerian Airways was one of the fastest-growing Airline in the world which gave some of the countries a headache that made them destroy it with their international policies as they did it to NITEL.

Airlines that no longer exist in Nigeria.

Do you remember any of them? And did you fly in anyone of them during their time?

I flew onboard the defunct Nigeria Airways, Kabo Airlines, Okada Air, ADC, First Nation, etc

British Caledonian and PanAm used to make regular flights to Nigeria back in the 1970s and 1980s. I still feel the nostalgia of the iconic British Caledonian. The elite and middle class Nigerians flew regularly on the Lagos-Gatwick, Kano-Gatwick and Lagos-NY routes.

BALKAN Airlines, the Bulgarian Airlines. The one our badmouth people nicknamed PANGOLO was about the cheapest airline flying from Lagos to Europe in those days.

AEROFLOT, the russian Airlines was another cheap communist airline that flew the Lagos - Europe route in those days.

Both Airlines had their Salesoffices/Outlets at the Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos.
Lol... Balkan Airlines (Pangolo).
You must have been a regular visitor to those communist countries back in the day.

You missed out on PanAm and British Caledonian. They were truly iconic airlines for us back in the day (1970s and 1980s).

I know you are joking but How much do you people think is compensation money? Something that can't even buy plot of land in some places. Plus and minus travel, lodging and legal expenses then lawyer's percentage because to collect the compensation no be moi moi case. We saw shege..

Bellview took the lives of my mother's immediate elder sister along with her husband. Passenger 55 and 56. 😭😭 The night before Obasanjo's wife died early morning on the operation table in Germany.

ADC took the sultan of Sokoto while SOSOLISO took all those Jesuit Christi students along with that Pastor Bimbo.

Life has never been the same for the families involved nor this country in general after this successive incidents within one year.

My only flight experience ever was from Lagos to Calabar in 2009 for nysc orientation camp. It was Aero contractor that year. The one hour journey was a prayer meeting within myself.

And you never enter plane again in the past 15 years? 🤔

Na Good Samaritan buy you the ticket that time? undecided

Hoe time flies, have practically baorded all except Okada air. Seems when ever there are engaged crash it kills the business. My landlord perished in Dana while a good friend lost her child in Sisoliso crash of 2005.May almighty God bless Kelechi Okwuchi , she is truly a survivor!
