The way they're presented can have a big impact on the customer's decision.
the second choice makes the customer feel he's king and not being cheated. That's the smart ad. You make more profit whilst your customers feel satisfied.

Nigeria is a rich country, but the people living in it are mostly a poor, so A is the best for Nigerians.

When a Nigerian big man comes around, he'll go with B.

Poor people will go with A faster.
Rich people will go with B faster.

Rich men love free things.
Poor people love cheap things.

Nah, option A would always make more sells as it has lower amount requirement. Besides with option A, u can buy 3 bags for 105 while option B doesn't give that choice grin

Definitely A
In situation B, The idea of having 2bags of rice at home at once is odd to the average Nigerian
But in situation A, the same person that finds it odd to have 2bags at home may even purchase more than 2 cuz he feels u don’t know wats going on yet, he can even take loan to buy more, he will even call his neighbors and work mate that there’s somewhere they can see a bag of rice for very cheap that they should go and buy it on time before it finishes or before the place cast

Which of the two pricing options do you think customers will grab faster?
Seller A's pricing option has a LOWER entry level.

However, both pricing options of "Sellers A and B" will induce the target markets to make purchases at good bargains.

What percentage of your target population can afford 70k as against 35k? That should give you the answer. If there are 10 persons in need of your product and just only 3 out of this 10 can afford your product at 70k, then the max client you can get is 3 and max sales 210k. But if 7 of those can only afford 35k that's 245k and of course those 3[70k empowered] persons can always afford at least a bag at 35k and they can decide to go for 2 if they so desire. Let's say those 3 persons decide to get 1 bag each, that's 105k sold. You have the chance of making at least 350k (245 + 105k) or more with 10 persons as against 210k at most with just 3 people.
It's wiser to apply A

Most of the replies above show that you guys aren't into management or business administration. When a business entity comes up with this sort of promo, often, it's not about you the customer. It's about the company's wellbeing.

Most companies, especially, supermarkets, would prefer Option B because Option B will help them to shift more goods. As in sell more goods than Option A

As regards Option A, most customers would prefer that as they most likely came in to buy 1 piece of the item on promo anyway. Most wouldn't need 2

Thus, Option B will be more impactful on the bottomline of the company in question
this isn't absolute. It depends majorly on the purchasing power of your target population.

It depends on your need and want. As for me I will go for the 35k not only it is cheap because it is the as buy 1get 1 free. I only need one bag and therefore, I can channel the remaining 35k for other important thing or goods

Maureen,
Option A might likely sell faster, in present situation.
Someone with just 35k can go home with a bag of rice easily without thinking of additional logistics costs.
Most Nigerians fall into this category. They would prefer to spend the 35k they could have saved on other products. Two buyers can team up to share one bag, which makes the rice more cheaper.

In reality, Option B’s pricing strategy hardly works. Sales people in the house can attest to this. It’s like impulse buying - as if they are forcing it on you.
A family of 4 may think before they would finish a bag of rice, the economy could have gotten better and the price could have become more affordable.
They could also think of how their household could waste it (eg cook more than normal, give to friends etc). They could also think of additional ingredients needed to cook it whenever they want to cook.
Some households easily get tired of one type of food once they eat it over and over.
Some don’t even have space to store two bags of rice.

OPTION B
Buy one, get one free.
Though considering the price, it's the same, but the option A didn't specify if you can get 2 bags, but with option B, you can get 2 bags to yourself.

That’s why Option A is better.
Any company or business that wants to succeed should always be obsessed with its customers. It is when you always want to please a customer that your bottom line (profit) will increase.
Always going out to please customers and giving them want they want is the best way, always (not what you want) will keep you miles apart from competition.

Why do you think EVERYDAY IS ALWAYS DAY 1 at AMAZON?
Read more about Amazon’s Leadership Principles and why Amazon has always remained at the top. Its number 1 principle will amaze you.

Maureen’s customers now are not supermarkets but the common man. Supermarkets are just resellers. She must strive to give her customers the best in terms of everything.
Note that she’s trying to carry out a social experiment (survey) on her products to know how well to price at a certain period.

She is not just launching into the market. Likewise, she’s not trying to push her products into some hands either due to near-expiry or due to product defective.
