if you took your time to read you will understand that the government is not paying a dime. This guys will construct, commission and operate this particular rail line all by themselves. This is pure business. While they're doing this business to their gain, they're in turn building the Nigerian rail infrastructure. Nigeria government will only provide an enabling environment for them by removing bureaucratic processes and others.

Don't mind some people. They just type without reading!

I think from pH to Enugu or cross River, you will have to pass imo or Abia
So I think the line Will run from pH to Abia, then another line will run from Calabar to Aba
Where the 2 lane meets will follow the normal pH-Aba-Enugu route up to markudi, straight to Abuja

It means the starting point is Calabar -Uyo-HP-Aba- Owerri-Enugu, and/or Nsukka and straight to Abuja.

Oga, it means it will start from Calabar to PH. From PH to Enugu and Straight to Abuja. It can go straight to Abuja from Enugu unless they want to bend it to Makurdi or Lokoja. But Enugu straight to Abuja makes more sense. Look at the map well and also along the line, it will connect other cities along the line but the main focus city point is Calabar-PH-Enugu-Abuja.

If the emboldened was what was captured in the news story, I wouldn't have asked the question. I am not stupid. I must scrutinize whatever this government tells us because they think we are dullards like their supporters.

If you are going to Abuja from Enugu, I thought you would pass Benue and not Cross River?

How do they want to connect Calabar to Abuja through Enugu?

I hope this isn't a scam though! I no trust APC!

Gradually and slowly, we will get there.

It hurts me that Nigerians will go to the western world and be telling people back home about stable electricity, excellent infrastructure etc

I feel if we get our acts together, Nigeria has human and material resources to overtake some western nations.

I am optimistic.

Nigeria will be great!

It’s definitely a scam like Yar’Adua’s shamefully corrupt P&I contract and Tinubu’s Enron barge electricity contract for which his American collaborators were jailed.

Four of the six directors of the company are Yorubas with three of them residing in Lagos, according to the UK government website below:

What sort of country is Nigeria ?
You won’t fix security issues first you’re going to sign rail deals
Way before Amaechi launched the Abuja kaduna trains I knew something devastating could happen
Years later it sure did occur
The country isn’t safe, people are heading to crime to survive and they want to solely concentrate on trains instead of solving the security issue first

The reason people go through Makurdi before going to Abuja when coming from the east is that Nigeria does not have roads and highways. Ideally, a good country will have different extensive roads linking different cities but Nigeria doesn't have such. A country like Nigeria is supposed to have another highway from connection PH through to Enegu to Nsukka and straight to Abuja without going a distance way to Makurdi to Lafia before going to Abuja. So for the railroad, it doesn't have to go that direction like driving. I hope I am making sense.
Lol.
You’re late to the party.
Nobody goes up to Markudi or Lafia again to get to Abuja.
The Loko-Oweto bridge has eliminated that.
It’s now Enugu to Otukpo, then u turn left and head to Nasarawa town in Nasarawa state, then to Keffi,to Abuja

SoNature is arguing that "Calabar-Portharcourt-Enugu-Abuja" sounds like a route, now if those locations share no common boundaries, how will the route work. If you have an explanation then you give him. You hatred for Obidients is numbing your capacity to think.

Well, I think it makes more sense to connect Makurdi or Lokoja (or better, both) since we don't have enough train transportation in the country and the objective should be to link all state capitals by rail.

Scam !!! The first sign this MOU wasn't for real. It was signed with the UK. Right now UK with all her ill-conceived BREXIT policy can not even take care of her people. UK is a very poor country, no difference between the UK and Nigeria except that one has constant light and the other does not.

Check the owners of the 'UK firm', you will find that dubious politicians registered the firm in the UK, now use it to hoodwink the gullible.

They know that when they say 'UK firm', everyone will loose their guard and expect it to be true.
