Nigeria is a place where we intentionally refuse to do simple things. It is intentional not to have the data of every citizen born in this country so that loopholes can continue. This is fed into the over-centralised Federal system where the centre in Abuja controls millions of people she doesn't know, rather than let States and local governments manage themselves properly. In today's world, with digitalisation, GIS and Information Technology, these things can be easily prevented if we wanted to. School children have been routinely kidnapped under three concurrent Presidents and we seem completely handicapped. We are an embarrassment to ourselves! What do we do with all the fingerprints at Immigration, NIN, BVN and telecommunication companies? How difficult would it be to have CCTV cameras in our cities?
