Convert the value of those properties to dollar with the prevalent exchange rate at the time and recalculate the cost in Naira. That radio set is N20,000 then divided by 100 (1999/2000 exchange rate) this will give you $200.

In 2024, the radio set will cost N1400 x 200 = 280,000. Then do for the VCR and the Television.
what is this one saying?

It's not even about wealth... It's about intelligence and class.

Minimalism, to varying degrees, is the true apogee of sophistication. cool

Abeg in 2000s which level of rich man be this because even as a middle class family living in koyi then our house no look like this. Biko. My dad had high taste for interior decor and electronic gadgets and tries to keep it simple.

Anyways it depends the on area he flexed his own big manism. Maybe those munshin area, Maroko or amukoko but definitely not in high brow areas like awolowo road ikoyi, okotiebor Kingsway.. grin

See as the house dey kill joy self . Even in the 80 s houses I grew up seeing didn't look like this.

In 1999 when I finished secondary school below is the shelf and tv stand my dad bought when he was changing our interior then. With very nice comfy sofa to go with it.

Your backing dating aint correct, as at 1999 there is no LCD tv in any home in naija, talkless of hanger
things took a different turn in Nigeria after the advent of GSM, and that was millennium season
that tampered glass shelve you posted came on board from 09 .. even though there were fancy imported wooden shelves with rotable head in the 90's

Ours didn't have a hanger. I just used that as a sample when I didn't get the exact type but it was all glass and in place of that hanger it has a flat glass tray that holds the TV. But every other thing about the shelf is accurate. Glass Wings on both sides. Very beautiful.

This doesn't depict the sitting room of rich in year 2000. This just the set up of average Nigerian home just like mine that have teachers as parents.
