PATRIOTISM.

E don tey wey I last heard and understood that word.

Almost like an extinct word in day -to-day conversations of the average citizens.

Maybe it's because the country forced on us by the British-fulani hierarchy is not our own.

How about the poor masses voting those drunkards?
Yet we still have people who don't matter in the schemes of the politicians killing themselves for peanuts.

Bishop you wine and dine with these Nigerian leaders. We see you all the time with them on tv, faces of newspapers and they grace your occasion. They even sponsor your events, projects, programmes or make you a member of one committee or the other that spreads the national cake your way.
Dear bishop, all these things you say at newspaper or tv interviews or public lectures, do you tell them privately? You have always had the ears of our leaders right from the beginning of this 4th republic and you have grown richer and more influncial in person and in the church courtesy of their facilitation, have you rejected their influence, string pulling, money or otherwise?
Stop masquerading on the faces of the media from time to time about people we know are your best friends.
he does that too privately.

Absolutely right, they all fumbled big time...only a few like Lateef Jakande and Ambrose Alli stood out.
And Sam Mbakwe, of old Imo State; the man did wonders in four years as governor - go and verify!

Why at a function? He is who he is in Nigeria today because of Nigerian leaders. Why play to the gallery?

You are kind enough to use drunken stupor. For a country that is rule by a drug addict and former drug peddler.

Everybody are quick to blame rulers, but a nation will not have a ruler except for their kind. It our type of people that rule us, they just happened to be privileged

This is pure and undiluted truth from Bishop Matthew Kukah.
President Tinubu should see this as a professional advice and act swiftly on time to save our country and the military architecture.

The current situation we found ourselves is an eyesore.
Everywhere but nowhere.

What baffles me the most is that we have a large pool of intelligent personalities and we have to always choose from a few bad eggs among us because we think they are sort of powerful

And that's why we find ourselves here

You think Jesus did not dine and mingle with pharisees, romans and sinners?

It is more impressive that after mingling with these lot, they are still able to speak the bitter truth about them.

Do not hate the 'sinner' (person) but the sin (wrongful actions). And like the saying goes, change is the only constant thing. So there is still hope that one day, change will occur as long as we continue to say the truth about the situation of things and not be some sycophants or have biased minds because those in places of authority are members of our families, parties, cliques, association, etc.

Nigerian leaders are clueless and it's a reflection of we the followers. If Nigeria were to be in a European or American continent, this space would have been one of the best places to behold.

Nigerian leaders are not clueless oh. They are just selfish, dishonest, wicked, mean, crude, inhuman, evil etc.

A clueless political class that 'secure the future' of their families in choice nations of the world

Stop 🛑 blaming the leaders. The Nigerian populace are worse, they are wicked, evil minded, corrupt and bigoted hence, do not deserve good leadership.
The problem Nigeria is not leadership, it is the people. I realized that during the last elections.
What the people do is private business, but politicians control the revenue and wealth of the state and the people. The politicians are obliged by law to use resources prudently and accountably, like they do in other countries...too bad our anti corruption and financial crimes unit is toothless, because it is under the politicians, unlike in nations where they are under law. Nigeria needs strong institutions.
