Indeed, it's a matter of verbal perspectives.

By the way, are you an English language grad? I know about the professional catering side of you that you left on hibernation because you told me so.

Studied phonetics and diction courses in linguistics.

Aha! Phonetics and diction courses in linguistics... "I thought as much."

Indeed, with a firm grip of the foundations of phonetics and diction, learning to READ RIGHT and SPEAK RIGHT in English (and other major languages) becomes easypeazy.

See an idiot asking me to go to school. Nairaland is harbouring scumbags for sure. You went to school and your English teacher didn't teach you anything about offhand? How can you graduate from a miserable school in your Brown roof colony and stupidity coupled with illiteracy won't be part of you?

Both are incorrect in this context of expression meaning to be able to recite something.
Its. "by heart "

"I know it by heart"
,"I can say it by heart"
" I can recite it by heart".

Modified.

Those arguing with me go study about contextual and literal meaning. I can't help you biko.

On point period.

Off my head ... top of my head .... off hand .... pretty much saying/doing without much thought.

If it relates to what you can do with your hands, then off-hands can suffice, but where it has to do with what you can do with your head, then off head should apply simple… 🤣🤣🤣 cos there is no way you can tell me that a person can think about the economic situation of this country offhand… that person needs to be flogged…. Is it not because Tinubu promised us that he can carry the whole situation of Nigeria on his head off-hand that brought us to where we are today Abeg make nobody provoke me ohhh…..

This is directly from Cambridge dictionary. Read and educate yourself. Meanwhile English is not our language, we shouldn't argue over it. Let's put more effort on our individual languages. It's dying everyday.

https://dictionary.cambridge.org/dictionary/english/offhand

offhand
adverb
UK /ˌɒfˈhænd/ US /ˌɑːfˈhænd/

without looking for information and without thinking carefully; immediately:
I can't quote the exact statistics for you offhand, but they're there for you to see in the report.

Re: Offhand Or Offhead Which Is Correct by Electrochemistry(m): 4:42pm On Apr 02
“I can recite the anthem offhand”
doesn't really mean the same as
“by heart”.
“Offhand” can mean “without prior preparation”
as in “I can't say offhand where Mary lives” and is most often used in a negative

Offhead means
to not be in control of your behaviour because you have drunk too much alcohol or taken drugs e.g. Hannah was off her head as usual.
