This guys in NLC and TUC are just joking. By this proposition, they are giving the FG more reason to regard them as unserious.

Where on Earth will government source 615000 as minimum wage.
This is outrageous

that’s a bit over $50 a month. You’re wicked and probably stupid.

Nigeria minimum wage been at 60k or 70k doesn't mean that what's people will earn

That's for level 1 step 1, nobody absolutely nobody is on level 1 step 1 school cert is level 4 or so

Most graduates start at level 8, so I'll support moving the minimum wage to 70k for level 1 step 1

The most important thing is the purchasing power of the money the the arithmetic sum

Anything above 60 or max 70k is comical

True, I get the point now, there is room for negotiation. However, these negotiations waste time and delay implementation.
Welcome to a world where your employers don't know your worth!
You inevitably have to negotiate!
That's one of the reasons why sports players have agents or lawyers to negotiate a better pay!

N615000 is payable. Nigerians are the problem of this country. If other poor countries can pay $15/hour Nigeria can pay 5$/ hour. Nigeria is a rich country. We are only suffering because of corruption and poor policies. We deserve a better pay.

Hyperinflation loading.

The government should work on making things affordable the masses and massively reducing the take-home salaries of top politicias, as well as disbanding redundant government agencies, not stupidly increasing minimum wage.

Anything more than double of what it currently is will spiral into a hyperinflation, which will cause artisans, businessesmen, and employees in private sectors to be at a disadvantage.

The joke is on you bro.

You think it's too much yet an individual senate earns ₦35m monthly. Doing what? That's even the one we can see.

In your own mind now, Nigerian workers don't deserve a minimum wage of 600k?

Whatis 600k in this present Nigeria?

Keep deceiving yourself and your fellow zombies. Supporters of a failed politician whose only investment was a beer business.

Not only 35m monthly, it is even 150 m .

Olodo.

It’s fools like him that give the government the power to act insolently.

Anyone with a common sense living in this nation knows our government officials are predators. The only way any reasonable figure will be agreed is if they begin with an astronomical amount.

Imagine they started negotiations with 200k?! E clear say na 50k go be the new wage. But this way, it might just hit 100k and that’s great for the average person today.

The politicians earn pretty more than that. And trust me, the state can pay it. They just don't wanna make anyone comfortable.

Better they propose a high figure like that, so that FG will not end up doing 40k. Maybe they will do 80k. If you give crazy government 100k, they will do 35k. So maybe this can make them do 80k.

Citizens like you are the problem of this country. Where do we have all the money they have been stealing from? The fact that there is 'nothing' to do and no serious burden on the government makes them to sit and map out strategies on how they will steal. Wake up brother.

Wow! Just, Wow!

All these disparaging comments against the NLC for submitting 615k as proposed minimum wage are coming from the same folks that vehemently opposed the astronomical increase in electricity tariff.

When it comes to making the masses pay bills, the government uses the West as a comparative tool, but when it comes to the government playing their own part, they suddenly remember that this is Nigeria and the same masses will support them.

With the rate at which the cost of basic amenities is increasing, I even think 615k is not enough as minimum wage. If our politicians stop the mindless lootings and misappropriation of funds, they can afford to pay an excellent minimum wage that can help the masses mitigate the effect of rising costs

Minimum wage has to align with the current situation of the country. And for a rich country as Nigeria, ₦615k is quite small. It should be from ₦800k.

That is the sensible minimum wage since they like comparing fuel price and commodity prices to foreign countries. They should pay the same minimum wage too.
The brain-dead Bat supporter will soon start making noise that where should they get money from. But it's OK for their drug lord to borrow billions of dollars monthly to loot😅😅

"At the inaugural meeting of the panel, Shettima urged members to ‘speedily’ arrive at a resolution, and submit their reports early as the current N30,000 minimum wage expired at the end of March 2024"

Imagine, it's even VP who is urging those bunch of failures to speed up. The fact that the current minimum wage had expired on the March and the so called Labour Union is still at new wage proposal stage a month after is an indication that they can never be trusted to represent the people because they are not only incompetent but too feeble minded to act fast in the interest of anyone. Lanour Union my ass

But naira purchasing power is increasing now that they are paying same salary for workers who have been buying goods at 5times their former prices right?
