The joke is on you bro.

You think it's too much yet an individual senate earns ₦35m monthly. Doing what? That's even the one we can see.

In your own mind now, Nigerian workers don't deserve a minimum wage of 600k?

Whatis 600k in this present Nigeria?

This is the most important point.
A senator that is barely educated, and a civil servant, earns 10s of millions of naira but a professor who actually contributes to the country and is at the highest level of their career is lucky if they earn 500k.

This... This is the legal robbery. We've not even gotten to all the illegal ones.

Let's have them justify those salaries. Including those of ministers and such.

🤣🤣🤣

Tell me you're joking pls, if 600k is approved, do you know the damage it will cause to the economy.
Imagine cleaners earning 600k as minimum, even Deloitte don't pay their new entry more than 300k a month.

Can't imagine how hyperinflation will finish the country if that is approved

He is being realistic, u don't need to convert the amount to dollar because we don't spend dollar in markets. Most governors have not been able to pay 30k min wage that was enacted years back, U think such governors wod be will pay 615k a month to the least person in the ministry, come to think of it there wod b hyper inflation, those who are entrepreneurs wod also increase the prices of the goods and services by the percentage increase in min wage.

You have come again with your wayward talk. The 600k is just a proposal.

If you don't know where the states government will get the money, then shut up.

Why are you not asking what have they been doing with the excess allocations going to them since the removal of fuel subsidy?

the labour are wasting our time. The minimum wage committee was set up Jan 31 and it is now they submit their figure. What have they been doing. Workers are waiting seriously for may 1 when the president would announce the minimum wage amount. They should not give horrendous figure that will delay the procees

some Nigerians are plainly stupid.

You could see different fools above saying 600k is too much to earn for a month's work.

What can 600k do in this present Nigeria. A fool up there still said maybe he meant 61,500. Can 61,500 even get a bag of rice.

I weap for these fools
una no understand what we mean by minimum wage, labour is asking for a 2000 percent increase of the current minimum wage, and mind you this is the proposed minimum wage for a school cert holder, Imagine a worker who earns 150k, which means such a person when reviewed by 2000percent
will now be earning 3m per month.
My brothers the earlier you realised that the Labour union and federal government are working hand in hand with the government the better for you. New wage should commence by April but at this point they're yet to put up a realistic proposal, which means even till September, workers will still be earning the same salary and still suffering. You expect banks and other private companies to start paying their least workers 600k per month

will big minimum wage solve the rising inflation? No, the more the wage, the more the tax and government will make sure to remove every single penny to make it useless, naira purchasing power will reduce

I understand you. But even if they don't do that, what they gain already is enough to pay.

The number of people on the payroll is a huge problem NLC won't want to hear. Truth is civil service at the federal and state is over bloated

For me a minimum wage of about N120k makes sense without job losses.

If labour wants like N200k, then they should be willing to accept like 30% job losses
Re: Labour Submits N615,000 Minimum Wage Demand In Fresh Proposal by lhurd: 10:17am On Apr 14
Where Nigeria wan see money pay 600k as minimum wage? Government should cut down the civil service and increase minimum wage to 150k. That's more realistic

To some persons commenting here, yes, it might appear as a joke but lets all joke on with the present day government. When we tie our currency to the dollar, reference PMS and electricity bills to that of UK and USA along with other basic amenities and food. And clearly the prices of commodities and gadgets are looking there too. We are existing in one planet then, How much is N615000 in USD? So please NLC go ahead and tell them the joke of the year.
