ACTING National Chairman of the Labour Party, Prince Ifagbemi Awamaridi, has raised an alarm of alleged plans to kill the LP, saying they would resist the plots.

Briefing newsmen in Lagos, Awamaridi, in a press statement titled: “Nigeria; the hard way, the only way” apologized on behalf of the party for the “disappointing conduct of the past executives,” which he described in Yoruba as “Gbajue” (fraud).

He said: “I and other members of the party apologize on behalf of the Labour Party for the disappointing conduct of the Gbajue executive.

“They commercially rented the party as a Special Purpose Vehicle mapped out as a mischief to kill the party in such a way that the party will be de-registered.

"The de-registration move they are making is done secretly, and we are aware. We will resist it with our last blood.

“We are now in charge of the Labour Party, and any group or individuals that call themselves the Labour Party are mere political clubs as all former excos’ tenures have expired.”

There are things I don’t even need to stress my head on because I know it was meant to grab headlines.

How can you deregister a party that has a sitting governor, senators, over 30 House of Rep Members, House of Assembly Members, etc? What will be your reason.

I know Tinubu and his gang of criminals can perpetuate any sort of illegality they so desire but I’m sure they know there are lines that CANNOT be crossed.

Are they mad?

But wait o! Did NLC handover Labour Party to somebody from Lagos? Not every politician from Lagos is to be trusted o! So many of them are under Tinubu payroll and are his agents in opposition camps.

I hope NLC hasn’t committed a faux pas?🧐

Some people are desperate sha, because you don't want to account for monies that you have chopulated, you want to deregister a whole party.

Thank God the LP presidential candidate was not elected, the PDP free for all looting during Goodluck's regime by every Tom, Dick and Harry would have been child's play.

We are still waiting for election expenses from those that promised us.
